recovering damaged save

Postby ultramarine on Fri Nov 05, 2010 8:40 pm

i was playing my player mode, finished more than 50 games of my first nba season, and then i saved game in the middle of the match, and when i tried to load game the game crashed. i tried it over and over but it crashed every time. the problem is that i am stupid idiot and i used only one save slot which i overwritten each time i progress and i don't have a backup.
is there any way to recover my player's career or i just have to start everything from the beginning?
please help me, i am desperate! :))

Same problem here :? I also saved during a game, and it looks like my savegame is corrupted now. It's a pity, I was now a starter for the Heat, averaging 20 points and on my way to winning ROTY.

It looks like a very common problem, would a patch solve that or should we start forgetting about our "careers"?

Save in at least two slots next time. I damn near lost my live franchise the other day only saving in one slot.

I'm sorry, but it's usually not easy/possible.

ok, after saving game a lot of times since my first post, i realized that you can save game while in game as long as you save it during a "dead" ball. so, saving when the clock stops is perfectly safe (after fouls, timeouts, quarter starts etc. also, the best way is to wait until the end of all animations and save the game just before the ball is put in play. you can also save between two free throws.
saving game in the middle of play or while the clock is running (even the points are scored) will make save unusable and will crash when trying to reload.

Did you save it in a timeout?

yes, i said timeouts are ok as well.
the surest way is to wait until all animations are over and save the game just before the ball set inbound.
