ICON Pass and Positional Play calling issue

Hi

i have noticed that when i try to pass to my center via Icon Pass on 2k11 pc, there are times when my player holding the ball passes to another player..usually someone closer to the basket. second i cannot seem to find a way to call positional play calling for my center. as it turns out the button for positional playcalling is the same as the button for center. correct me if i am wrong about this. thanks!

Depends on your controller configuration NBA 2k11 is a pain in that some buttons are "locked together"

similar issues are in FIFA 11 with "locking" buttons

seems like you are getting the two buttons confused. On the 360 controller LT is the center's icon whereas LB is pass to the closest to the basket. If you are using a custom configuration you have the two confused (clutch/playcalling buttons)

If you are using a gamepad that is other than the 360 controller, the direct pass icon for the center is the clutch button or "LF1". I think its a bug in the game because looking at the direct pass icons would tell you that the center's icon is "LF2" or the play call button. pressing icon pass and then play call will result in your player throwing the ball to the players closest to the basket.
so, to direct pass to the center, press play call then clutch button, disregard the icons appearing above their heads. got me crazy at first, but that's poor console porting by 2k.

Are you using a Logitech controller? I have the Logitech Dual Action controller and my C and D and Lf1 and Lf2 buttons are reversed when it comes to Direct Icon passing.

i'm using a generic gamepad... could have been pattern w/ logitech. i have mine reversed too. i figured out a way to it. if i want to select my center on positional play calling and icon pass i just press my clucthc (LF1) button and ignore the prompt of (LF2).
