got 1 game in
you can only play as the lakers

that should be fucking illegal. that's like having a NCAA demo forcing me to play UNC vs my Dukeies, or a MLB game making me play Yankees over the Sox.....seriously, this sucks.
the climalite jerseys look real noice
got an over the back foul called on me
presentation looks lifted from NBA Live 10, not a bad thing but I want to make a mod that tones it down a bit
this game is SMOOOOOOOOOOTH, man, this feels, looks, and plays great
no replay again
no change sides
no playcalling
freethrows are changed, its now a down up motion like Live 09 was.
they changed the walk the dog animation to a throw in rather than a roll in. still works fine
I can't explain enough how smooth this game is....you gotta try it to really understand it
Tue Sep 14, 2010 8:06 pm
I understand that they tuned it down so that we cannot use every new feature in a demo three weeks before the official release. Things may change until October 5th and maybe they don't want to set wrong standards until then. But wtf, you can only use the Lakers? That sucks. Was looking forward to score the ish out of Artest with PP.
Must be even harder for a Cs supporter, Jao
I hope the demo for the PS3 will be out tomorrow here in Europe. If they release it at 5 pm EST that would be about midnight here, but I have to get up early, so I might have to wait until tomorrow.
More impressions appreciated

well its not much different than 2k10, other than the smoothness which I still cant get over
feels like i have a lot more control as well
lakers organs are going crazy so im sure idiotic basketball fans will love that
the game looks a lot clearer graphically, more vibrant too
no lock on D is sooo much better than the CPU assist
rondo sig layuped my ass
havent gotten paul to do his jumper yet, I want to see if they got that awkward thing in there
the double shake to shot fake to spin move in the post transitions sooo much better into a layup/dunk than in 2k10
not having to hold both triggers down for dribble moves is a bit different (that initiates backdown)
all i can say is this game is going to be complete crack. PC version, smooth gameplay, classic teams, JORDAN?! fuck I can't wait
i also can't wait for Halo Reach, which i am going to go and pick up.......nowish, so I'm outie people, enjoy the demo.
Tue Sep 14, 2010 10:30 pm
i like it. well.. from what we get :p no jolty moves. i just saw paul peirce drop a pass that would of lead to an uncontested 3 :p

I just tried it (Downloaded it right after I woke up) the game feels smooth. Got mad when I found out you couldn't switch teams. I believe you can still shoot freethrows by holding X . Imo the "graphics" (or lighting idk what to call it) look better than 2k10. all in all I like it better than 2k10

Just played a couple of games on the demo. As mentioned by Jaosming, 2k11 does look and feel alot smoother than 2k10. This is mainly due to slowed down movements and speed of the game. I like the addition of the fake pass as its often used by big men in the NBA on the post or high post. Just having the option and animation makes the game look so much more realistic. Also the way players take off for dunks has improved. In 2K10 as soon as you press sprint and shoot the player immediately leaps up for a dunk. But in 2K11, there is a natural delay to allow for the players to gather their jump for the dunk.
It was unfortunate that the demo didn't have playcalling or substitutions available. At the default settings shooting is really easy. Several times I didn't have the right timing of release for Fisher and Kobe but they still made their shots.

You lucky .....!!!
At least it will be really cheap on the PC and it is out in only 20 days!!

The gameplay is alot smoother. I personally want to attribute the increased smoothness gameplay to the removal of the cheerleaders on court. which in a way to me is a shame cause it does take away from the enviroment immersion. I didnt find the isomotion controller any easier or simplier than it was from last years. perhaps there's something im not doing right. graphically its almost on the same as 2k10 with little details like garnet sticking out tongue on a huge play and oncourt presentation. i really didnt see anything else different. i will add more comments later

A demo is supposed to make you want the game. this demo makes me resent the game. i did not like the demo at all. i got bored after 2 minutes of gameplay and you cannot read the scoreboard in the corner at all.
NBA ELITE 11 DEMO PLEASE COME OUT!
Wed Sep 15, 2010 4:12 am
Played a few games, the demo is pretty solid. It sucks that you can't run plays, because sometimes players just stand around, but watching the Celtics run plays you can tell your gonna have to know your play calling LOL. I still gotta get used to the Isomotion controls, No backdown button? Other than that, This is light years ahead of 2k10, this is going to be a GREAT Game!!!
*Video Coming Soon
Rondo's fake layup was pulled on me, also Paul Pierce's turnaround, KG's Shake is in there, Kobe's Jumper is on point, they need to fix his face though. Overall, I'm impressed with this game!!!

i heard u run plays by hitting the lb once u come cross half court, and backdown buttons are the two triggers.

wow i'm suprised how smooth everything looks and feels way less "chunky" moments than in 2k10
the new dribbling will take some practise time but it feels allright
the ingame graphics are way better than i expectet

it is a major upgrade to 2k10 way more crisp and much better lightning
i thought the cpu defence was pretty nice if you remember it was only on pro setting on default now imagine hall of fame on simulation
on the other hand to me it will take some time to get back to the old days without lock on D i got used to it even if it's maybe more fun to to the work yourself in the long run
all in all i like it it's to little of the game coming out 3 weeks from now to judge it now

Thanks for the videos guys, I've posted them on the main page.

I'll be posting some impressions of the demo in the not too distant future.

Pleasantly surprised. Seems to me like 2K10 with some of my favorite aspects of 2K11. Having to control LA and not being able to coach (I wanted to use the Big Shamrock) was a drag.
The gameplay, as many others have said feels far more smooth than in 2K10. The CPU also plays decent D which is great, considering the 2K10 demo was a dunkfest. Lack of lock-on D was tough to adjust to though.
Very pleased with the presentation. Its a bit overkill, but it gets you hyped for the game.

I also like the graphics. It has the vibrant colors of Live 10 but without the cartoony look.

I like this game, one of the few games I'll go out and buy on release day.
Never played 2K10, so this is like a whole new experience for me. I was still playing 2k9 all this time.
Wed Sep 15, 2010 11:32 am
Can't play it cause I'm not Gold, but will when it's for silver or when I go to Gamestop to play it
