I don't have a big problem with anything, i just showed my point of view and sugested you moderator to re think about that, maybe you got my point and share the same opinion, and your words worth more than mine when talking to andrew on that subject. Im not asking anybody to change anything, but simply think about it again, 'cause if you do, i think you will see that you may have been excessive protective on exe's and too little protective on everything else.

I repeat, I DON'T suport piracy! But i think we need to define what is piracy. In my point of view it would be sharing the whole or any part of a copyrighted software.

i don't want to create another discussion on this post, but discuss the effectiveness of "laws" that limits us of easily fixing the problems related on it.

Cheers JaoSming

p.s.: i understand that can be a boring and repetitive subject, but im sure that lots of NLSC users share this thought with me.

MacGyver666 wrote:p.s.: i sincerely can't see how that can be acceptable by the forum rules (like editing the 2k10 exe for a better cam), and sharing a original, NOT cracked, and so blocked and protect exe could be consider piracy. I really suggest you moderators to re-think where ends modding/fixing and where starts piracy. Even though modding, using 2k10 texture on 2k11, using nba live texture on nba 2k, it's all already against copyright laws.

Developers tend to turn a blind eye to modding and have even expressed admiration and support for those efforts in the past. Distributing the original .exe files is taking things a bit too far though as it still facilitates piracy (even if that's not the intention) and we don't want to get into trouble, hence we err on the side of caution with strict rules about that. I'm afraid we're not changing our stance on that.

This definitely is a weird issue but since the PC version isn't region specific, one solution would be to buy the North American version through Amazon or another retailer in the US that ships worldwide. That doesn't help people who've already bought the European/Australian version of course but for anyone who hasn't picked up the game yet, it's something to consider.

I'll say one thing for the EU/AUS version though, at least it doesn't have metric heights and weights for players like the PAL version of NBA Live the last few years; that was really annoying from a presentation standpoint.

The EU/AUS logos.

This is weird, I dont think is the problem of the .exe, 'cause I remember to have, in 2k10, the EU/AUS .exe and since I downloaded the American Stadiums and Floor, I saw those americans files :?

Actually, the problem IS with the .exe...

I have the North American retail version, has all the logo's, courts, w/e... I don't like having the CD in when I play, so I downloaded a crack off the net... As soon as I went to play, I noticed all the little court logos (bulls, mavs, cats, etc) inside the 3pt line were missing, im assuming that cracked .exe was from a Aus/EU version... I put back the original .exe, everything was back to normal...

If using all the US court files fixed it last year, then there has to be something else.

MacGyver666, give me one court and stadium, all versions, high and low and I will take a look and see if the files are exactly the same.

Look, i have a AUS/EU version, in the game, on bobcats court, the center logo is the one that have "bobcats" writing on it with the "cat" right side pic, just like the small logo (note that small logo doesnt have the "bobcats" writing).

Once i extract the the bobcats court file, the iff, this logo doesnt exist, there is the "correct" logo instead, just the "cat" front side. (the new logo, that should be in the center when you load the court). So the game is getting the old logo from another place, like the team selection logos...

im attaching the bobcats court file (f031.iff), use iff editor and check the textures inside.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

MacGyver666, that file is exactly the same as the one I have. Guess it is an EXE thing.

I'm kind of torn on trying to get the US version too. Game is released here today, so I'll probably just go out and get it today, as I planned.

But I read they changed the online to arcadish gameplay type :( and the My Player mode is still glitched (no play calling or play-vision for non-pg's), Association mode still has a lot of issues so my excitement to play a.s.a.p is kind of gone.. which sucks btw lol.

Re: EU-AUS/US version

That online thing is not true (at least if you do a custom game), but the My Player thing is. That may be patched down the road however as it seems to be a bug or oversight or something since you could do it last year if you had the ball. (It may also be by design, at least the play calling part, not that it should be.)

I'm reading different things about online. Now people think it's because of the latest roster update that the gameplay has changed. More dunks and faster gameplay, less tipped passes, things like that.

As far as My Player I don't mind not being able to call plays as say, a center, but I want my team to run plays and tell me where to set screens for example.. I don't want free style one-on-one basketball all day..

not for my team and the opponent! All the games will be the same, the playbook and tendencies are what separates them, they should be in play. I want it to make a difference for playing style which team drafts me..

And I'm worried that it's the same in Jordan mode (Legend mode).

The play calling system is one of the features I look forward to most, so I really want that in the MP mode.

And Associaiton, it seems that homecourt advantage is ridiculously strong. Especially in the playoffs, but also even the regular season the best teams struggle to go .500 on the road. Plus if you don't edit rookies, tone them down, then all trading will stop in about 2 seasons.

If you don't do a custom game it uses the default gamestyle which is yes, more arcadey, but if you do a custom game you can set it to simulation.

Despite the play thing, My Player is better this year.

Game has plenty of problems, all sports games every year always do, the problems of a ten-month dev cycle.
