I also don't get it. How do you crossover using the keyboard?

best way to get used to the controls is goto practice freestyle where it has a 50 page step by step walkthru on the new controls, tells you what buttons to push and what way to push the sticks etc imagine it works for kb to but of course sports games are best played with controllers.

behind the back dribble and i think spin requires you to rotate the left stick 180 degrees from the on ball hand to the off ball hand or vice versa its tricky to pull off especially since you need to be moving forward to do it, that the main key to the new system most of the "l33t" moves require you to be moving towards the basket, hence it is worth it to just go on the practice court and get used to the different controls until you can pull it off a few times then try to work it into a game, also is more complicated since over the years we are used to just mashing the turbo button and some of those moves require you to not be mashing any other buttons to perform them.

me personally i tend to perform behind the back more often by accident just trying to go by defenders. gonna take some real practice to get to work them into the game fluidly. imagine once us old schoolers get used to the new controls the game will be pretty slick and a good reason to get used to the shot stick which i tended to overlook in the older games simply because i was used to the timing on the good old shoot button.

old habits are hard to break tho

man it's easy to do crossover with keyboard I got game 3 hours ago and I allmoust know 8 different crossovers

Basic crossover you can do with button clutch...just tap it quick and with arrows try to change directions you gonna see player will start dribble in and out...

Sorry other secrets I won't tell :) like allen Iverson once said let's talk about practice man :D

Yep I just got frustrated so I'm not gonna play by the ear from now on. I'll check out the tutorials and buy a gamepad. :D

I really don't like the controls. My problem is of course that the crossover and spin buttons are gone. I play on keyboard, so they were very important to me as I had four moves easily available just with those two buttons. Now it's problematic to even do a simple crossover, let alone those more complicated moves. Maybe I could understand this controls change if we got something nice in exchange for those two buttons, but there's a completely useless fake pass and a hopstep which was easy to pull off in 2K10 without having to have a button wasted for it specifically. In 2K11 a spin move, behind the back and half spin are like impossible to pull off on a keyboard (unless someone actually can do that and tell how, cause I don't see how I'm supposed to move buttons in a circle or half-circle motion).

Yeah, I know I can play on a pad, but I just don't like it. Say what you want, but I have more fun playing on keyboard and would like to be able to do the moves without all the unnecessary hassle. 2K should have at least given us an option to switch back to old controls. Right now, I just feel 2K11's are making some things a lot more difficult than they need to be.

You don't even have to do isomotion to pull off a crossover. You do a change of side direction and your player automatically does a crossover (unless they changed it in 2K11).

Depending on the gameplay camera, behind the back and spins should not be too hard. It's basically a quick 3 key sequence from ball hand to behind the back to non-ball hand. To spin it's the same but with the clutch key pressed.

I'm guessing it's like 5 key sequence. Say the ball hand is Left...left, left+down, down, right+down, right.
That's the way it has been in doing circular movement inputs with a keyboard in most games, unless 2K's is different.

Yeah, but it's still a 3 key sequence, just smoothed out to using two keys at the same time for diagonal movements which should make it even easier.

Easier, no it's not Pdub. Have you even tried it, it's freaking hard.
It's much easier if the game accepts and does the movement without the diagonal input.

Just got the game, damn player dribbling is kinda weird, seems kinda hard to charge the paint, train style and then dunk it down.

LeBron randomly spinning (at the paint) on fast break when LeBron is supposed to dunk over little Rondo instead.

Been a user of keyboard for an eternity  1st NBA game that actually felt hard to control basic movements

Can anyone tell me the use of left stick and right stick, (First time to see this at PC)

Sure, but it's more like a hand switch rather than a crossover. I meant those powerful crossovers which really have an effect on defense. And I was practising with Iverson, so he definitely has them available.

For me it's pretty hard. Tried that combination already, guess I wasn't pressing the buttons fast enough. I'll try again later.

Do that handswitch with a dash of Turbo...

Crossovers isn't the lethal move for Iverson anyway in 2K. (Quick) hesitation moves. Try it in game.

I guess you can make a macro or something that will do the move automatically. The biggest problem you are going to have is trying to do these moves when your player is at an angle. Buy a damn controller already.
