NBA 2K11 Cover Player Speculation

Since we've got a thread going in the NBA Live 11 section, I thought we could do the same here for NBA 2K11. Who's your pick to be cover player this year?

Quite possible, given he was the face of the 2K10 Draft Combine. As much as Rose's stock is on the rise, given Kobe was the cover player last year 2K might want to follow up with another big name that's already up there as one of the league's elite.

possibly LeBron?.. guessing 2k will once again use coverboys coming from the champion of this years finals.

Kevin Durant is possible.

Kobe will emerge again in nba 2k11 for the cover athlete as expected from his team he will win again in the Finals
As I simulate through the playoffs into finals the Lakers and Orlando will meet again in the finals the cleveland will fall down in the hands of Celtics in Semifinals and Celtics will fall down in the hands of Orlando 5-2 and again in the finals Lakers will won the championship LA-ORL 4-1 just as the finals last 2009 so no need to worry in cover athlete for nba 2k11 and also derrick rose will appear again in nba 2k11 draft combine for sure

Last year's cover players were selected before the finals, it just worked out that both players' teams made it. Although, judging 2K's history of their covers, Kobe will probably get it again.

Exactly, that was pure luck (or arguably an educated guess) that bother covers featured players from the NBA Finalists. The deals are worked out well ahead of time so that fees can be agreed upon and the cover itself along with other promotional material can be designed.

2K repeated cover players as recently as NBA 2K7 so it wouldn't surprise me greatly if they went with Kobe again.

Why has LeBron not been on any cover yet? I'd love different covers for differenct versions which would allow Dirk to get on the German cover. I think EA had this some years ago.

They signed Iverson to a five year deal to be the cover player. And later signed Shaq to a two-year deal.

They have used a Finalist on the cover four of the last six though.

Why would rose be on the cover on draft combine 2k11? He wouldn't be a rookie anymore, so My guess is Tyreke Evans for DC2k11.
As for NBA2k11, I personally think that Dwight Howard might be on the cover.

He wasn't a rookie when he was the face of the NBA 2K10 Draft Combine either. However, I'd say Evans is a good pick if they're releasing another instalment of the Draft Combine this year.

Deron Williams (if they'll win trough west finals)

*though already selected by LIVE series before, might have a chance for 2K cover...

Garnett was a cover player of Live 2001 and he became the cover player for 2K9.
2K also had repeat cover players in the past like Shaq and AI.

EA's yet to sign anyone to a multi-cover deal as well, so I don't think past affiliation with NBA Live will prevent an appearance on 2K's cover.
