Need help with iff editing

Hi guys,

after trying out numerous patches and editors I have accumulated a bunch of an answered questions and problems and I was wondering if moders out there could give me an answer to any of them. So if you have successufully did any of the things I will mention here please share your wisdom:

1) logo replacement

how can you successfully replace an existing logo with a custom one?

For example I wanted to make a new logo for clippers. I replaced the apropriate picture in the following iffs:

logo006.iff
logos_large.iff
logos_medium.iff
logos_small.iff

it seems to work fine at first but it turned out that the icons in team stat window (NBA.com) stayed the same and I get a weird juxtaposition of old and new logos during ingame.

2. Player portrait

same type of problem. After I replaced apropriate pictures in both portrait.iff and portrait_hi.iff it turned out to have a weird overlay of the old and new player portraits when I put in subs ingame.

3. Shoes replacement

I downloaded some great shoes ( thanks to moding cominity) but I am not sure where the heck I should install them. There is a bunch if shoe.iffs and I don't know which sho is which specifically Jordan brand. Also what about exiting statistics for individual shoes? Is there an editor that allows you to do that?

Please if you have successfully replaced a logo added a new players picture or know bow to edit and/or replace specific shoes in the game let me know how did you do that, which editor did you use, what files did you have to edit.

1. When you save the logo as a DDS file to import with the mod tool, you need to make sure you save the dds file with mip maps

2. same as above

3. I have no idea about shoes, but I know that what shoe goes to what player is controlled in the roster

When replacing logos or portraits you need to delete the old and create a new alpha channel.
