Make it harder to get minutes in My Player?

Postby Lunatic Wolf on Sat Dec 11, 2010 3:10 am

Getting minutes seems a given in My Player, no matter what your rating is or how you play.

I am a 45 ovr PG, and I was getting 32 minutes a game. A joke.

Then the suns traded Steve Nash to START me. I mean, come on.

I want to struggle to earn minutes, and have to play well to keep them. Any ideas?

I don't know if it's possible. That's why I choose (or in this year's game, start over and be drafted until I'm satisfied) teams that lack talent in the position I play. Last year I played PG, so I chose Sacramento, since Beno Udrih sucks ass. And this year I decided to play PG once again, and I got drafted by the Hawks, which is quite realistic, 'cause Bibby isn't what he was in the early 00's and he's old as shit. So me getting the start over him after 15 games was quite realistic.

well the way i do it is via tsearch, i found the address (551BDFC) for mp mins per game and just adjust to what feels comfortable, ex. when i 1st enter the league (drafted by heat 2nd round 2nd pick) i adjusted the times to a real rookie rated in the 50's 7mins a game and kept improvin mins til i reached 68 then got the start over chalmers coz of injury now i play 28mins per game full time starter, i enjoy playing this way, get good realistic stats and get through games very quick, 82 games is quite long

hope this helps you

I was doing the same thing with TSearch. I have a 2.04m SF inspired by a Kevin Durant/Rudy Gay combo. He was drafted by Orlando, and for the first month I thought to give him aprox. 5 MPG in rotation as the Magic rotation was good and I didn't want to exaggerate. Nevertheless I played more than 5 MPG because the coach wouldn't take me off the court hehe... So far I had around 10 MPG, 12 PPG, 3 REB, 2 AST etc. which are good numbers for a rookie.

After endorsements with Jordan and a series of very solid games with around 20 PPG and A's across the board, the management assigned me to the D League !!!! What kind of a bad joke this is? The game engine here totally sucks!
For my first D-league game I got pissed and assigned him 35 MPG, and I ended up with crazy stats 52 pts 9 reb 7 ast 74% FG 64% 3PT. Now does anyone think that I have a chance of getting into the NBA again if I play good games with insane stats?
If I'm not reading or rocking out, I'm probably walking or watching others walk.

well if you reach the 2nd second of your career, it feels like your just a nobody, for example the announcer will not even recognize you every time they talk about the leading scorer, rebounder, or in assist even though your are leading in one of those category and The Jordan Brand Company will just leave you in the dust after 1 season. No more shoes and Billboards/Magazines, even though you have a good performance in every minutes/game that you play.

I wish they'd give you an option to make it oppressively hard. Call it Larry Brown Mode where the coach refuses to play a rookie unless he proves himself in teammate grade.

But I get why they don't make it standard, the average player would bitch up an endless storm how their loser isn't getting 40 minutes a game.

I thoroughly agree with this, it needs to be addressed in next year's game.
