Defensive matchups mess-up bug

Sat Dec 25, 2010 8:59 am

I'm a victim of the most annoying and frustrating defensive bug that I can think of.

It happens on random occasions (some games the issue isn't present, in others it is). When it happens, it doesn't go away and persists through an entire game.

So let's just cut to the chase; for some reason, the defensive matchups seem to mix themselves up for no reason. Basically, my SG ends up guarding the PG, the PG gets a PF/C as his matchup and the opposing SF doesn't even have anyone of my team guarding him (ending up in wide-open 3's and other mess that gets on my nerves). The defensive matchups menu shows as if everything was fine, but in game, as stated above, the matchups are a complete mess.

I can't pinpoint the source of this bug and it was already happening to me in NBA 2K10. Surprisingly, after thorough Google'ing, I couldn't find ANYONE with the same problem as me.

I may upload a video so people can see the bug in action, but right now Sony Vegas is being retarded with the slow rendering.

Have you made any defensive coaching settings changes? Try setting preferred matches at the menu to see if it fixes it.

Yeah, it's a pain in 2K10. What I do is to call Man to Man/Half Court Press defensive play when I see it. It doesn't fix the match-up problems like your PG guarding the C but it makes sure that no one is left open since every player has a defender.

Haven't experienced it for a whole game like you do but it usually lasts for a quarter or two (I play 10-12 mins.) for me. One remedy is that I always call Man to Man/Half Court Press play just before the ball crosses the halfcourt line so that my players will automatically go to their proper defensive assignments.

In 2K10 it usually happens during the ASG, not yet for 2K11.
