Please help: MyPlayer No Substitutions/No timeouts

Postby mvv on Sat Mar 05, 2011 3:34 pm

Hello, I have both PS3 and XBox 360 versions of NBA 2k11. My problem is that in MyPlayer mode for both versions, my player is not substituted at any time during summer league.

I play 12 minutes per quarter, and my player becomes too tired when playing all 48 minutes. I also have not encountered the coach calling any timeouts at any time for both teams. Is this a known bug or should I just continue and this will be corrected when my player plays in the NBA?

maybe you use trainer and get your ratings to 99. Commit fouls that will solve your problem.

I'm having this too. I had an old My Player save (Pre-Patch) and I don't recall having issues with it after patching it.

But then, I decided to start a new save, in order to have the updated rosters, got through the Draft Combine without trouble, and then in the Summer League I started noticing some weird things. No timeouts and no subs; I play the Summer League with 5 minute quarters so I didn't mind playing it through, but I thought it was weird.

Then came to my first NBA game (with the Nets), I'm not in the starting lineup, of course, (Williams, Morrow, Jones, Humphries & Lopez), so I press the "Sim till you enter the game" button, and in-mid first quarter I make my NBA debut as a SG (I'm a PG), leaving the lineup Williams, Poblete (me), Morrow, Jones, Humphries. A couple of plays later Humphries injures himself and he leaves the court for Lopez.

And that's it, I played till halftime with that same lineup (Williams, Poblete, Morrow, Jones, Lopez), without regard to Lopez's 3 fouls, or fatigue. I checked the 3rd quarter lineup before saving and quitting, and it was the same.

I did have timeouts though, but no subs, except the one letting me in, and the one for the injury.

Sorry for the double post, but editing the one before, would have lead to a huge post.

I kinda isolated the problem, at least my problem. I'm using tsearch to change the sliders and coach settings to the game, so I started a new career without tsearch.

I played 1 minute quarters so that it would be quick, and after the combine, I got subs in the summer league normally. Then went to play the first NBA game and I got normal subs also.

So, I checked my older save, the one with the problem, and I found out that the "substitution" address had a value of 1, which meant "Manual", so that's why in my save I had no subs. I must have left it that way in my options when I froze them before applying them to my "My Player" save. Pretty easy solution.

No, I do not use trainers. I play both Xbox 360 and PS3 versions and they are legit, and I'm just starting out MyPlayer. If there's no other way than commit fouls, I might do it - but it defeats the purpose of MyPlayer where you should have a coach that can sub you in and out without your intervention..

My Substitution and Timeout settings are on Auto when I started. But I'm still on Combine and I haven't reached the NBA yet so I hope the "no subs" issue is only on Combine. I'm thinking of doing 1 minute quarters as you did, and hopefully this will be corrected in summer league and NBA

If you use a program to make your player a 99 without going through the normal process of working hard 2K will ban him from playing online!

This totally changes the subject. In the Draft Combine there are no subs and no timeouts, it's just 5 on 5.
In the summer league this changes and you play as part of a rotation. Obvioulsy in the NBA this is the case too. I got confused because in the first post you said Summer League (not Combine, as you stressed in your last post).

The way I do it normally is play 5 minute quarters in the Combine (since I play them all), then 8 minute quarters in the summer circuit, and then when I get to the NBA I start playing 12 minute quarters.

Sorry for the confusion there. The last time on the Xbox 360 I played until Summer League and there were no subs/timeouts and I thought it is a problem in the 360 version. Then I started a new one on PS3 version on the combine and there are still no subs, so I had to ask the question whether it is expected. As you mentioned, in draft combine there are no subs, then I should just continue and check summer league. For the 360, I did not play MyPlayer on it again so I cannot say whether it will happen again.
