Question for my fellow gamers

Postby kamenballer on Thu Nov 04, 2010 1:57 pm

How can I/My Player avoid sliding up, down and sidewards the court. for example when I press Up, Down or Left/Right Arrow(I'm using keyboard BTW.) then I release the button quickly(especially while running). My player will going to take 2 to 3 extra steps before stopping, that's why I mostly past the player that I have to defend. Is that normal? Do I really need to timing My Player's movements? :?:

Sorry for my Grammar.....

It's realism at work called "momentum". I think it's covered under the topic of that silly thing called "physics".

when I play with a keyboard, I usually do it by timing. If I can't avoid it, I make a quick left or right turn if I think I am going to get a charging call. with a xbox 360 controller, I use a quick tap on the LT for a short stutter step then stop, I use this when I think I can get clear of a defender for a jump shot or I think I can get an easy feed in to the lane.

addendum: I forgot to mention that with analog sticks, you can control the running speed of the player with more precsion. So in your minds eye, if you are eyeing to get to a spot, for a jump shot, quick cornering to take advantage of a screen for a drive or dunk or simply loosing the opposition, throttle down a bit on the stick, and with good timing you'll get to where you pictured you should be going.
