Which of those dribble moves was not in 2K10? The directional sizeups?

It's less about new dribbling animations, more about the fact that you can cancel the anim just when you want to turn it into an anklebreaking combo.

Some of the first previews around the time of E3 mentioned that was the case. I guess they misunderstood the presentation and took changes to the dribbling moves being the end of Isomotion (or a re-branding).

I've never been the biggest fan of Isomotion and from a control standpoint it doesn't look like too much has changed, though it kind of mirrors some of the right stick movements that NBA Live has used in the past (just on the left stick with the trigger) so perhaps I'll find it more appealing this year.

I realized why I dont care so much about isomotion.

I dont use dribbling moves when at a stand still, which is isomotions major drawback whereas Live's freestyle/quickstrike is pretty much made for that.

Is that what you try to do or is it issues when trying to spin past someone or something.
Opinions are my own.

Pretty much everything. I guess unfamiliarity has a lot to do with it because I know what I'm doing with Freestyle (and its various successors that have used the same stick movements) and not so much with Isomotion but I've never really felt in control with Isomotion, pretty much holding the trigger, wiggling the stick and hoping for the best. It's always felt a bit heavy to me but again I admit that could come down to ineffective usage.

i did the same thing and just spent some time with practice mode

when standing still I rarely do more than a quick flick left or right for a crossover or a quick left down right for a spin (those are with the LT pulled) It gets confusing when you have to start paying attention to the ball hand so you spin the right direction but if used sparingly and by using triplethreat moves/passing/pick and rolls instead of dribble moves to get open it can be very very rewarding and satisfying.....and look great.

this isnt exactly something that looks perfect but all this sequence is is LT + pull back, RT (tap), LT + Left-Down-Right, LT + pull back again, then tap X for the step back.
in live if would have been, right stick down, wiggle left and right, tap up, tap down, then triangle/Y for the step back.
Opinions are my own.

That's a nice set of moves. I usually try to hesitation cross or in and out everybody.
For comparison-
In Elite that would be left stick back + right stick right, right stick left/down to down to right, left stick left + right stick left/down, right stick down to right(or left to down to right), left stick back + right stick left, LT + left stick left/down, right stick up.

Same here. I just use hesitation or size up at stand still.

The hell, Beno Udrih is featured in that video. He must have gotten some love from the devs after seeing that he sucked at isomotion in 2K10.

NBA 2K10 felt better for me, with a bit of practice I'll probably be able to adapt but I do like the right stick method better. Having said that, I'm getting NBA 2K11 so I'll definitely do my best to master those controls as well.

You don't need to master all, just the ones Jordan usually does.

They finally got the Boston Court right. I don't give a shit about the color of the lines etc etc, but the wooden part was way too pale the last years. Now it seems pretty saturated. Another nice little detail.
