Very detailed blog this week:
http://www.easports.com/nba-live/news-u ... 4-gameplay- Turbo/Sprint is there, for anyone who may have been concerned they were going the NBA Elite 11 route
- Dribbling controls are similar to previous years in terms of the right stick movements
- Different moves suit different players owing to their signature style, speed, quickness etc
- Auto-charge option allows players to try to take charges without pressing a button; risk/reward in that
- Deeper coaching options, similar to NBA 2K
- Enhancements to defensive AI

You and Jao are too fast for me sometimes. These are some good updates they are releasing here. Controls seems solid. I do think its time to show a clip of the defensive side of the ball.

It’s important to stress that we have balanced this feature to insure that there is a proper ratio of blocks/flops/charges called.
Dunno if I like not having control over my defender falling/flopping though. I understand that it could be a downfall of defending with a certain player, just like not being able to dunk with Nash, but still...
Other than that, nice and detailed

^^ I kind of like it, depends how it plays out. Charging/blocking needed a renovation. I love the defensive slide returning, makes defense more hands on and getting crossed a bit more legit. Defensive options are too sick too. Liked everything about this update, other than there's no option to lift hands on the right stick.

I wish they didn't speed up/slow down animations via numerical ratings. That's something that attributed greatly to unrealistic looking gameplay in the past. Still great blog though. I like that the courts and stadiums are pretty accurate. That's something Live always excelled in.

I have to say, the dribbling looks really nice. Can't wait to see real 5on5 to see how this plays out in a real situation.

Where did this screen come from? I looked on the blog and i didn't see it.

Andrew is just sneaky

probably saw the numbering of the images and just did 1-2-3-4-5-etc instead of copying each images' URL

"Defensive AI has also been enhanced."
Enhanced from what? I thought this was a completely new code base.

The past maybe?
I am a bit downed that the sig moves look to be the only differences in dribble packages. Dwade doing the same basic moves in the same manner as Wall, Irving, Conley. I hope they make bigs do those basic moves in a much sloppier, slower fashion.
Also- "The top ball-handlers in the league have their own dpackages."
Does that mean the non-50-plus-players with sigs wont be allowed to use the sig move modifier?

Enhanced from what we've seen in the past, yeah. Those are my words; I guess I could've phrased that better, but I was just going for some quick bullet points for a summary. The blog itself goes into more detail.
I'm definitely glad to hear that the controls will be familiar, indeed very similar to the ones I've liked in previous games. Nice to see some in-depth coaching options, I'm guessing with the team specific playbooks they're talking about, there'll also be some coaching profiles. In any case, nice to see those details.
The dribbling system is sounding good, nice to hear that we can't just spam it. Hopefully, the CPU can't do so either and can be shaken by well-executed combinations by players who can break ankles.

You can still manually take a charge:
The right stick also allows you to attempt a dig steal, contest, and take a charge.
It's just that the auto-charge setting will have your players focus on trying to draw charges, kind of like the auto-double team setting in the match-ups saves you from having to manually call for a double team on a particular player every time. The ability to manually try and draw a charge is still there.

That would've been the efficient thing to do, but I didn't.

what's the difference between hesitation and crossover? their the same directions just switched.
Like this,
Hesitations < or >
Crossovers > or <
See no difference. hmm. both say flick too not hold.
Sat Nov 02, 2013 5:38 pm
Depends on the hand the ball is in. If it's in your left <-- will hes, if it's in your right <-- will cross and vice versa. Assume it's that way for sigs too.
Sat Nov 02, 2013 9:59 pm
Hesitation moves involve moving the stick towards the hand that's currently dribbling the ball, crossovers involve moving the stick towards the opposite hand; same as previous NBA Live games (and 2K's right stick dribbling controls for that matter).
