Just picked up my copy of Live 14

apparently the Best Buy/Future Shop across the street from me had these since the fckin 15th when the PS4 got released.... if I knew that I would have picked it up right then.... I guess the perks of living in a city where EA Sports is headquartered.... so for you Vancouver residents, I'm talking about the FS/BB in Surrey Central mall, theres still a few copies of Live there

browsing through the menu system alone, I don't ever wanna go back to 2K14's menu it sucks so much, setup like something from the early 2000's

connected to EA servers, says 10.000 records updated, so it looks like the Synergy stuff is up and running already

They also had copies of Live 14 at the Scott Road FS. Nobody bought them though. lol

^ honestly bro, the only thing I could show you guys that hasn't been shown already is the menu layouts.... I really really like the menu layouts and also all the game modes they got 2K beat on all of that... I think if anything 2K might have added a crapload more cutscenes which suck anyway

I just finished the first quarter of the Rising Star my player mode.... I shot 2 for 20, lol....

uhmmm..... first impression of gameplay, the way the players move feel very familiar to me because I been playing Live since 94, and only started 2K in 2006.... so I really like the way my player moves around the court meaning the guy I control, but the other 9 guys are awkward... but, smoother silkier more in control then 2K players... I still think the way you control your player in Live 10 beats anything out there, even 2K14 next gen.. its just responsive and to the point without being supernatural

the courts look pretty good, barely passable for next gen, but oh my goodness these player models are absolutely horrible, it literally looks like a bunch of clay painted toys running around the court... also they take up NOTICEABLY less floor space than in 2K where the models are a lot bulkier, whether it's the body types or floaty fat jerseys I can't figure out which.... so to me it seems Live's player models are a bit to small, while 2K's are simply too large and they can talk all about body types, but when you give everyone a huge jersey and shorts a 180 pounder will on screen take up as much space as a 250 pounder so it's no difference

damn man, these player models no lie, they look like last gen Fifa players exactly how they looked on the PS3 and 360 except now they're in 1080p, other than that, identical

also in that one my player camera angle where you're on the floor, there is a massive frame rate drop to about 30 or less, when you get the ball inbounded when it zooms down and you can see the whole arena all the way to the top seats... and this is bad news, REALLY bad news, because if they couldn't optimize these shitty graphics to run at constant 60fps with the power of the next gen, they we are in a really bad place with Live...


i can definitely see why they've stayed so low key about this

man, so let me get this straight, its next NEXT gen and we still have good old "ice-skating" live effect.......
i been playing it these last few hours and I don't know what to say, I'm going to quite literally email EA sports for a refund...... this is beyond belief.....

just boggles my mind to think, they knew, the WORLD knew that their weakest aspect of their game was the GAMEPLAY, and yet it's so clear to me and anyone else after playing a few hours that day they spent way more time working and putting in all these extra features instead of redoing their gameplay from the ground up like they should have... this is simply a repolished Live 10, nothing more gameplay wise... just makes no common sense whatsoever, maybe only business sense which is what EA is known for

Can you tell me which modes can you play with/against your friends?
