@chicagoRAW agreed. Anyone else notice how thick the 3 point line is?

I think this is an early build..... either way I think it looks good. It has that Live 09 feel. I mean its not perfect but hey I'll totally play it. Also this week, 2K=trailer EA=5ON5GAMEPLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the heads up. (Y)

I thought it looked OK, my jaw didn't drop but it's a pretty quick clip. Good to know that 5-on-5 is coming this week.

Something is telling me this is a clip from an early build. IDK the dribbling exposition in the Kyrie Irving trailer seemed to be more fluid and quick than this one.

I thought it was live 09 at first glance, it's kind of hard to see the detail, you know detail is there but it doesn't pop out immediately.

My 77cents.

Positives:
1. Looks like Nash, graphics can grow on you. Ball looks great.
2. The way Nash ran off the pick looked Nash-like. Whether that's a generic animation or not. Looked like Nash to me.
3. The offense moves pretty fluid.
4. The lighting looks different in each arena I saw so far. It may just be me. Might have been like that in 09 too.
5. The fans look pretty detailed, esp the lower right screen as Nash comes off the pick. Variety.
6. Crowd in general looks wild into it in the beginning shots.
7. Hand-ball relation still looks great. / Shrump looks like himself from the blur I could make out.

Begatives:
1.Pick n Roll defense - Aldridge in no man's land, should come out or shade, I forget the terminology for it, you know what I mean.
2. Dame - not even making an effort to fight over the pick. Hell we didn't even see what happened because the camera cut. And after Dame gave up on the play... If he was going to give up on the play it'd look more authentic if he jogged or walked instead of acting like he was still defending.

3. The pick is so far away, why is it so far away from the ball handler? That could get annoying if you have to travel to the pick every time. Could be a play, dunno.
4. Kobe is just standing there. Would've thought he'd space up a bit so if Kamen got the pass he wouldn't get trapped, or if the help side stuck to Kamen Kobe would be open for the trey. Instead, Kobe sits behind Kamen and eliminates options.

5. All off ball players look stiff. Too idle, too computer, it'd look better if they were doing even the simplest gesture like rubbing their hands or antsy for the ball, stretching, flicking their hands, clapping, jumping, something.
6. It was a bad shot. Nash would have popped the elbow jumper, or did his one legged fade, or hit Gasol/Kamen instead of deciding to run in traffic and throw a floater. Since that's a personal gripe and since he did run in traffic it would benefit if players actually gathered (even the quickest, smallest possible) before their shots. It looks way too weird and Ps2 generation when they don't gather.

7. Can't think of another so I'll just say the graphics don't pop enough. Look at Nash's hands balled up. You can't tell the individual fingers apart. Not contrast enough in my opinion.

Liked how they managed to throw Kyrie into even this.

:lame:

I mean, I'll play it, probably a lot, but nothing "next gen" about that EXCEPT DAT BALLL OMG

Thick 3pt line and isn't the Blazer's lane lighter wood? Ball didn't actually touch the next (point Live 2003), off-ball animations are very lackadaisical (point Live 2004), but I do agree that it looked a bit like Live 09, which is a good thing IMO.

Good lord... nit picky, aren't we?

I will wait for more than a 10 sec clip before I judge the game

looks horrible and the still, hunchback defensive stance is back! looks like elite 11 in which no turbo can be seen.... chance of canceling my preorder has greatly increased

I was saying on my twitter feed that sites like Facebook, YouTube and Instagram take a lot of the quality of videos and compress them down, Everyone is talking about how garbage the graphics look, but once the game is running from the console to tv, the quality will be a whole lot better. Graphics will look fine in the end regardless of how these videos on the internet look.

I'd reserve judgement until Friday to see what they actually release, to me this game plays like NBA Live of old, but a bit more fluid. So veteran NBA Live players will kind of know what to expect with gameplay animations. Most people expect it to run like 2K, but it never will. Not sure why EA can't get certain things right with the physicality of their basketball games, but let's just see what they can do with this first release. Also they never showcased BounceTek in this video, maybe they'll be focusing on play calling.

You can tell that from a few seconds of gameplay with cinematic cuts?

Re: VIDEO: NBA LIVE 14 Trailer Preview

theliveking^^
Pretty sure of the same. There's a great exaggeration over that short clip. It's not a trailer, wasn't intended to be a trailer from what we know.
Some of us just want nba live back to those 04, 05, 06 days of play in a new gen. It'd be nice if it looked better, but it's nothing to burn gravy over.

Re: VIDEO: NBA LIVE 14 Trailer Preview

Aside from the compression of videos on Facebook, I'd say that the first look trailer with Kyrie Irving going up against the Knicks was a lot better. I'm not saying it was perfect, but better than this teaser. As such, I'm also wondering whether if it's an older asset, put together at a time when a few things were being tweaked and modified.

It's kind of like the first next gen screenshot for NBA 2K14 which featured LeBron wearing the Heat's home jersey with an incorrect trim. Apparently it was from an older build and the texture has since been fixed. You'd think that they'd take the first screenshot from the build with the fixed texture, but perhaps the screen that was released was simply the one that's been pre-approved and scheduled to go out. It could be a similar situation with this video, given some of the discrepancies.

I'd rather wait until we get the full gameplay trailer in HD before making too many assessments; hopefully, it's more like the first look trailer and we get some clips without the cinematic cuts.

Buy or do not buy? That's my question........ :-?

Re: VIDEO: NBA LIVE 14 Trailer Preview

More previews, review and impressions to come, not to mention a demo. It's not as though the game will be all sold out and unobtainable the day after it releases, so anyone on the fence can certainly wait and evaluate.

Re: VIDEO: NBA LIVE 14 Trailer Preview

Thu Oct 17, 2013 3:34 pm

Apparently it is part of a trailer. I watched the one on instagram, didn't show those words after the clip that the facebook one did.
It could just be that that's how light skinned players look.

edit edit gotdamn edit:

I'm confused now. They said the 18th is 5 on 5 gameplay at first and now it's a gameplay trailer on the 18th. Is that what's going on? We're just going to finish the rest of what that clip was and whatever build it was?

Re: VIDEO: NBA LIVE 14 Trailer Preview

this looks awful... like ps2 era.

Re: VIDEO: NBA LIVE 14 Trailer Preview

Awful? PS2 era? I'd say that's an exaggeration, particularly the latter comparison. If anything, you could fairly say it doesn't look like a step up from what we've seen on the current generation, which certainly isn't a positive thing. However, it's not up to par with the in-game footage we saw in the first look trailer, so I can't help but feel there's more to the situation.

Even EA knows that Live 14 will gonna be epic failure... They would show us some real gameplay videos if they would sure their game rocks... They will keep it "top secret" 'till is too late for all those people who pre-ordered bag of unknown trash... 2K next gen NBA game will stomp on EA's joke and that my friends will be nail in the coffin for Live series...
Let's all hope I'm wrong, but as far I'm see chances are really slim...
At least we will get one spectacular NBA game on next gen and that's enough for me... cheers
