Looking good so far. Hopefully those signiture moves do not feel like "cheating". I'm at the stage where I need to have that game.

I'm guessing they're more along the lines of simply being signature animations or perhaps Go To Moves in NBA Live 08/09, which were actually pretty well balanced.

Yeah, though perhaps they're more effective at eluding defenders than the standard dribbling moves. A little like Go To Moves, which had a slightly higher success rate but not to the point of Freestyle Superstar cheese.

I wouldn't call it horrible, just a little too overpowering at times. It had its moments and merits. In NBA Live 06, it could also be disabled completely, which was a nice approach. It's certainly good that they looked to move beyond it, though.

IMO, Live always needed a ton of custom animations for every aspect of their game, I think the reason why most of the animations looked so choppy is because they didn't have the right blending of animations to go together, and it forced players to move unnatrually. There's pros and cons about breaking out of animations early because sometimes they look unrealistic. Let's hope they have a ton of defensive animations to counter the offensive BounceTek

I'm also most interested in the difference speed, and if by pressing turbo, guys like Tony Parker just blow past their defender like in real life. That's one thing that hasn't been done properly in ball games

Interested in seeing how triple threat moves work and if this bouncetek will be used to execute moves in the post. I don't only want to see sig dribble moves. What about dunk packages, layups, floaters, fadeaways and are they bringing back go to moves? This a nice feature but it makes you wonder if they fixed the problems from the previous games like rebounding, shooting mechanics, defense (as ThaLiveKing mentioned above) and most importantly the AI.

FSS was a nice gimmick in my eyes. It just gave the superstars more of an advantage which isn't bad they just needed to be toned down a little. High Flyers, Playmakers, Shooters, and Stoppers were not overpowering like the inside and outside scorers.

Besides, 2k kind of stole EA's FSS idea with signature skills. And 2k13's controls for the step back jumpers, euro step, spin layups and dunks are also no different than fss.

Agreed, it was a nice concept that didn't quite pan out in the long run. 2K's approach with Signature Skills (along with all the other signature moves and animations) are an evolution of the concept and more along the lines of what it should be, but Freestyle Superstars does get a bit of a bad rap. It wasn't the perfect solution, but it was working towards greater differentiation between players and adding some advanced moves.
