Hi, SkyLine03LT, I enclosed the roster just to show an example... you can used your own roster or any roster, just follow the instructions in readme.txt and the excel file. You can do it man!

Ok Thanks bro!

i hope the roster patchers start using your patch as a base.. its nice to have all the portraits. if not, i guess i will continue to have to edit the png assignments manually.
are you going to do a new update adding some of the missing legends and Marcus Haislip (once a cyberface is created for him)?
Mon Dec 14, 2009 3:48 am
ok... i cant get this to work...
this is what i did
1. copied the 2 portrait file to the 2k10 folder (done!)
2. copied the png1091.iff and renamed it to pnd1679.iff to the same folder (this is only for carlos arroyo)
i opened the game and its not there.. still a blank picture (although the pics of dirk is changed).
Anything i did wrong?
im using alby's roster.. did nothing to it yet.

Still not working for me either. Don't know what the deal is, followed the instructions to a T. What else is there for me to do? Obviously, something is amiss. Using Guillame's rosters if that matters.

I just tried using your patch with my roster and I changed the portrait ID for the players mentioned in the excel file, but I'm getting some errors too.
It works for the players who had to be created, like Beaubois or Cunningham for example (they still a generic CF, which is fine, but at least they have the right portrait), but for all other players who were already in the game, their portrait is fine but they have either somebody else's CF, or no face at all (and black arms)...There's a just a conflict here, the portraits would need to match the original png files, otherwise it won't work.

you guys have to do 3 things..
1) Copy the portrait.iff and portrait.cdf files to your NBA2k10 main folder.
2) Rename the png (.iff) files in your NBA2k10 main folder (use the excel list as a guide) some players CF were created so if they are not listed you must obtain them. This lengthy step is necessary because cyberfaces are linked to specific portraits and so far this cannot be edited. This link might be made in the nba2k10.exe
3) Load the Roster file provided OR use the excel spreadsheet to change the face ids (using REDitor) in the roster you want to use.
It's a long process but its worth it in my opinion and right now is the only comprehensive way to update the portraits. You should backup your directory if you have the space or at least the portrait files as you can always rename the cyberface files back to their original state later.
Hope this helps guys. (Mr.Xcitement96 hope you dont mind me explaining it)

So you're saying we have to use the roster that came with the CF update? This should work with any roster I thought. Either way, seems more complicated than it needs to be.
Mon Dec 14, 2009 12:38 pm
Using the roster it came with only cuts out the third step. That step takes about 10-15 min. Just open REDitor and change the players' Port/CF ID listed in the excel spreadsheet to the new assigned numbers.
My suggestion is if you have the space, make a copy your entire directory.. bc if you want to load other rosters and not make these changes every time all of those cyberfaces for the updated players will be incorrect or missing when you use the roster.

can u please add a portrait for rodman
Mon Dec 14, 2009 4:26 pm
That makes sense BokaJay, I didn't do step 2, hence the conflicts. I'll try it again and use this as a base for my next roster update. Thanks for the explanation
Mon Dec 14, 2009 8:41 pm
yeah, i figured that out yesterday.
Use REDitor to change CF ID of the player to the new CF ID indicated in the excel file. Basically making any roster (*.ROS) point to the correct CF.
For the record.... This is not in the readme file.

Hi, Bokajay... yes i was hoping too... that's why i announced in the first post that they can used it as a base... Yes, including some Legends(due to public demand)

Btw, Thanks for your nice tutorial... I'm glad, co'z when i'm writing the instructions, i jump to the conclusion that they know how to use the REDitor by Vl@d and the correlation of iff files to the Portrait and CFs...

Not to contradict what you're saying, but I tried that with Jason Williams, went into the game, and his face was still blank. Using Guillaume's rosters btw.

Ok, finally got it to work however, it only works with the roster that came with the file. Also the roster that came with the file is incorrect. Some players that are listed as out like Kevin Love are back, and I can't put them on the roster. And some players are listed as hurt, are back as well but they're ratings are way down. What can be done to fix this? Is there a un-injured version of this roster file that I can use to make the changes myself? Thx for your time.
Tue Dec 15, 2009 5:14 am
Mr. Xcitement, as I already said, great work! And I announce I will use your portrait files for my next roster update.
Tue Dec 15, 2009 9:23 am
Mr. Xcitement, bro can u add Jonathan Bender, Lester Hudson,Haislip,Marcus Landry?

great news kova
skoadam wrote:Mr. Xcitement, bro can u add Jonathan Bender, Lester Hudson,Haislip,Marcus Landry?
i was going to ask the same thing, however i believe there has to be a cyberface associated with the player (not a CAP)... so unless someone releases a cyberface for these players they cannot have portraits, unless u use someone's cyberface that looks like the player

i would like to see rodman and the other missing legends portraits done first since they have cyberfaces.. that would cool.

Can the ratings for hurt players be increased with this roster that goes with the new pictures??
Tue Dec 15, 2009 2:39 pm
hey man, thank you for this pack
i want to ask if you can make me a dds file for danny green. pls?
Wed Dec 16, 2009 2:14 am
WHY did you change players id??because i like your portraits but not Roster...
Wed Dec 16, 2009 2:53 am
I noticed that Justin Williams the PF has James White for his picture. I was wondering if u could give him his correct portrait?
