Is this a good trade?

Fri Jun 04, 2010 1:08 am

Since I really would like Stoudamire to go to Miami and built a dynasty together with D Wade I started a Association using the Miami Heat. Weeks before the trade deadline I tried to make a daring to move to land Stoudamire to Miami and to my surprise it worked!!. The trade involved 3 teams (New Orleans, Suns and Miami). What do you think? Was this a good move?

In order to get Stoudamire:

Heat Trade
Michael Beasley ------>New Orleans Hornets
Udonis Haslem -------> New Orleans Hornets
Quentin Richarson -----> Phoenix Suns
2010 1st Round Draft Pick -------> Phoenix Suns

Hornets Trade
David West -------------> Phoenix Suns
James Posey ------------ > Phoenix Suns
2010 1st Round Draft Pick -----> Phoenix Suns

Suns Trade
Stoudamire -------> Miami Heat
Louis Amundson ------> Miami Heat
L. Barbosa -------> Miami Heat
Goran Dragic -----> New Orleans Hornets

I also immeadiately traded L. Barbosa to the Raptors together with James Jones for Hedo Turkoglu and Joey Dorsey. which makes my lineup as follows:

PG: Carlos Arroyos/ Chalmers/ Rafer Alston
SG: Dwayne Wade / Cook
SF: Hedo Turkoglu / Wright/ Diawara
PF: Stoudamire / Amundson / Shavlik Randolph
C : Jermaine Oneal / Joey Dorsey

Reserves : Joel Anthony / Jamaal Magloire

what do you think guys? was it a good trade? let me know

Love it!
Any trade that brings Amar'e to your team is always good.

Great, now the Hornets have 3 PGs and the two of those are starters. Why do people like raping teams in game trades?

Amare,bad defensive player,i think that wade needs someone like bosh who is good on both ends and can create a shot for himself better.

Amare bad defensive player? please.. Or maybe I should take it as a joke?

In real life, yes but in the game no (2K rosters). Even a great rebounder.

I knew that i would see answer like that,you showed us that everything you know about nba is from highlights and nba 2k10.Yes,amare is a bad defensive player.

I wouldn't call Amare a bad defensive player, he's neither bad nor good. He's decent when he tries.

Well I dont know about you guys but for me Amare's got a good game. Defensively maybe he needs more improvement but as they say the best defense is a great offense. For me Amare is explosive!

Anyway I am now on my second season with my Heat assocciation and Ivehad a quite excellent ofseason. I was able to acquire Joakim Noah from the bulls and signed a couple of players. I simmed the entire second season and now playing in the the eastern semi final playoffs against Cleveland and guess what? Im leading 3-1! Overall here is my current lineup

C: Joakim Noah/Joel Anthony
PF: Amare/ Shavlik Randolph
SF: Carlos delfino/ Wright/Babbit (generated rookie)
SG: D Wade/ Cook/Gerald Green
PG: Arroyo/Chalmers

Looking forward for bringing my association to the Finals :D

one bad thing though...I often sacrifice my draft picks in order to get good players. As of now I end up having no draft picks for the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 seasons :( :(

I alays do that :lol:
And this about that best defense is good offense,well just remember "offense wins games,but defense wins championships".

I think getting a good 30 year old veteran player is a lot better than getting a rookie which is like 65ovrl. In order to get a good rookie, you need to have a terrible record to get into top 5 in the lottery.

What I do is I make a couple of trades and sometimes sign a few good free agents to make my team a championship contender. Once I had this roster in my association:
C: Shaquille O'neal/ Marc Gasol/ Mikkey Moore
PF: Michael Beasley/ Taj Gibson/ Melvin Ely
SF: Vince Carter/ Dorell Wright
SG: Dwyane Wade/ Dequan Cook
PG: Steve Nash/ Mario Chalmers/ Damon Jones

I got Shaq because he is my 3rd favourite player in NBA after D Wade and Kobe, plus I received some 1st round draft picks from the Cavs, that I used in other trades

I also have 1 pick left in my pocket- 1st round pick from Memphis Grizzlies

Also, when I have such a good team, sometimes role players or bench warmers start complaining, so then I just trade them for draft picks to a team with money.

I also am trying to do that but Im having a problem finding the team with a suffucient cap space. In 2k9 I could see immeadiately the cap space for each tem but in 2k10 it is not anymore available. How do I see the cap space for each team in the game?

Just pick a team's player with lowest salary, and then on the trading block where you negotiate you can see the team's info on top of their bar.
