NBA 2k11 Wishlist needs to be done

Talk about NBA 2K10 here.

NBA 2k11 Wishlist needs to be done

Postby Eich on Thu Feb 18, 2010 4:32 am

Hey guys,
well this is mainly for moderators and site admins, like Andrew and JaoSming.
Could you make a topic for NBA 2k11 wishlist and sticky it, so we can submit our wishes, and later you can submit it to 2ksports?
I know it's still early, but as long as we are still playing 2k10, we get ideas and wishes for next NBA 2k. Anyways, before we forget what we want, we should write it down in the Wishlist.

Thanks.

I can see that there is no official thread, so i will post a few things here:

- In association, i would like to have CPU trades turned on, but i would like a pop up to ask me if i agree with it or not...I always turn CPU trading off because some of the trades they do is just stupid...

- Give us a good soundtrack!

- Player introductions (at least for playoffs, come on!)

-I'm still not feelin the arenas, i'd like a bit more arena music and crowds really getting into it!

- Cut out with all the alley-oops in gameplay, its stupid and really unrealistic (especially in Dallas lol)

- Shoes need more detail, most players just rock a generic shoe all the same colour, 2k has to catch up to Live on this one!

- Same as above, but in the way of jerseys.

Thats all i got straight off the bat, but i'm sure i will be posting more over the next few months

I didn't quite get this.. Do you mean to remove all the alley oop plays? Because I really wouldn't want that :? . Alley oops are great part of the game, although I hate the most-robotic-ever pass animations

Anyway, here's my part:

1. Better shot physics. I mean that if you're sprinting straight forward and you press shot button forward, you take a leaner, and not stop, set your feet, then get your shot blocked. Also if you're sprinting forward and hit the shot stick backwards you take a runner like D Wade did it when he put up the shot for the win vs Chicago last season.

2. More animations. Definitely more and accurate sigshots, layup/dunk packages, dribbles... and so on

3. Ability to create a dunk/layup package. You could add up to about 25 different dunks, and you will have a choice of ALL the dunks. Maybe set different number of slots, depending on dunk rating (would be amazing feature for my player). Same with layup packages.

4. Smoother animations. 2k has got to fix this thing. Animations are smooth in 2k, but sometimes they doesnt make any sence, like some bullshit dribbling from a big man (talking CPU), or when you throw a close pass ahead, instead of making a basic 2 handed pass, you will throw a one handed pass like you were a quarterback and had to throw 20 yard long pass. Also better contact animations. Maybe sometimes off-balled players can collide with each other. So just make players use right animations at right situations and right time.

5. Court boundaries. Destroy that invisible cage and let the ball go into the crowd after a block or a terrible shot attempt.

6. After a saved ball players sometimes could jump into the crowd.

7. Better facial expressions. This year there are 2 types of expressions: like they just ate a very sour lemon or saw a ghost.

8. Jerseys. Make them accurate, also put them all into the game at once. Now if we want new jerseys, we have to restart our association. And put more of them in there, lots of retros.

9. Ability to edit accessories for each jersey. Colors especially (INCLUDING HEADBANDS!!!)

10. Dont make a sleeve look like it's been torn off a sweater. Make it thinner, also with a graphics choice on it (like howard's, maybe some generic graphics)

11. Make the courts accurate, with all logos and colors.

12. Total all star weekend.
12a) Dunk Contest. Just change the round structure, scores, a few graphics, change commentary... And you're all set :]
12b) 3pt Shootout. Easy. Add commentary, change round structure... Maybe add something like momentum bar or something..
12c) Skills challenge. You automatically grab a new ball when you need to, automatically run to the needed spot.. For the dribble course, you'll have to push a dribble button at a right time to go through it faster, timing depends on dribble ratings, kind of like free throws. On passing, you hold the pass button, just like jumper. Timing depends on player's passing rating. Jumper is a basic part... Seems like it.
12d) Shooting stars. An nba player, an nba legend, and if not a player from wnba, than someone like a player from a draft class, distributed to a team according to mock draft. Gameplay pretty simple- when you take control of a player, he is already in his spot. All you need is to take the ball with a push of a button, and take a J. Also add the ability to chose spots from where players would shoot their shots (not randomize it, so that player like shaq won't have to shoot a 3)

13. Show a skyline of a home city, or a view of the arena on timeouts, pregame etc.

14. Get crowd into the game. Activeness of a crowd should depend on team's status and stage. Like If it's a big game, a rivalry game, crowd should be louder than when there's a game like NY-NJ. In the playoffs crowd should be really into it, especially in the finals. Let the crowd wear same color shirts in the playoffs, just maybe with a few different graphics on them.

15. All star arenas for association. Make 30 different arenas for all star game, 29 generic- every year the all star weekend is held at a different random city.

16. Add a "frustration" feature- every player will have a bar of frustration, if a player makes a bad play, frustration will increase and will lead to arguments with refs or other team's players, harder fouls. Now we could see technical and flagrant fouls in the game, maybe even fights. Frustration could decrease if a player makes a good play or is sat down at the bench. Players could argue with the refs about fouls, like if they didn't get a call, or the ref called a bad foul..

17. Ability to switch jerseys in my player mode, and in saturday night events for each player.

18. Add momentum feature. Each player should have a bar, momentum should especially increase after an exciting play (dunk, 3, and one), when a player gets on a streak.. Momentum should have effect on player's performance, like if momentum is high, he will make more shots. In this case players can be unconscious once in a while :)

19. Make the crowd strike directly to user's feelings, so that home and away games would mean a lot more now, be different, especially in the playoffs.

20. Don't bring up replays on game time, commentators can talk about a spectacular play during a time out, foul, out of bounds play... They could say like "Moments ago we saw a thunderous jam by Kobe when he put Yao Ming on a poster"- and show the replay a couple of times at the same time.

21. Focus more on buzzer beaters. After a made buzzer beater, crowd and both teams should react, also commentators. Show it a couple of times... If it's a game winning or tieing shot, show the replay about 5 times with slow motion, also with a clock on a side to see if a shot was got off in time etc..

22. Manual Post up

meant to respond to this earlier but we dont have any official contact with 2k like we do with the NBA Live team.

soo, if you want to do a wishlist, that is fine, but for 2k you are better off posting it on OS or on their official forums since it has a better chance of being noticed there.
Opinions are my own.

Regarding alley-oops, patch will fix this issue/problem:

- Both User/CPU alley-oop success has been toned down such that only realistic attempts should now be completed.

Skyline, i was referring to the amount of alley-oops in gameplay. I love a great fast break oop from able players, but on 2k10 i see so often oops from like j-kidd to dirk, d-ron to boozer, etc etc... these plays are not realistic, especially when I have a guy like 7'3'' Thabeet or a 6'10'' Aldridge standing in the middle of it. It just needs to be toned down for guys that don't get patches (We ps3 users can't download patches lol).

2k is so far ahead of live, however, SKYLINE is 100% on the things that need to be fixed. LITTLE THINGS. Gameplay for 2k10 is awesome, now they just need to finetune all those little things that us diehards appreciate :)

I will be posting more on the list in the coming 2-4 months. (Y)

Daniel24, There's a tendency slider for alley oops, I decreased it to about 15 or so (cant remember) and I get realistic number of alley oops in my game ;0]

I agree with Skyline here everything needs to be changed the jerseys, crowds, courts, everything, it sounds wierd but when i shot a game winner with lebron he was soooo happy and he stopped and got to a seiuios face that was wierd plus in my player mode why not make it like in real life(meaning like, getting a wife, houses, real being drafted, agents, b-days(not really), cars buying stuffs and those) Also change the commentators they say the same thing over and over again that sucks anyway i really wish they changed alot of things in nba 2k11

I hate to get caught in animations, sometimes cpu triggers a move for you and you just have to wait untill it's over.

I also would like to be able to perform dribble moves with the right thumpstick like in former NBA Live versions, so leaner runner etc. could also be performed with the (left) stick used for motion like described some posts above.

Sliders for My Player mode (if included) and more realistic gameplay/ cpu behavior within this mode (no starting for the Lakers with a 50 overall rating, stupid subs, even more stupid trades).
