Live Practice NBA2k10 Issue

I'm trying to practice scrimmages on association mode and i came about an option that u can turn on defense and the other team will appear and u will eventually have to defend them to practice your teams defenses. What happens is when i choose to flip teams and play my team on the offensive side, it suddenly removes the other team from the practice floor which makes my team alone it practicing the plays.

I am wondering if i can play through live practice (scrimmages) with an opposing team defending me while i try to pull-off the plays that i am practicing.
