sports ticker in association

I like it when it works in association, because I never spend too much time in menu and it keeps me up to date. But the problem is- it works only like 1 time out of 20 (and yes, I know it doesn't when u'r not connected to server). So what's the deal here?
Does anybody experience this as well?
Does anyone know why this is happening?
Do anyone have a solution for this problem?
