Change the FOV while in game

Before you start your game,create custom resolutions 1282x840 and 1278x840 in your nvidia or ati control panel. Once the game is started, go to options, videosettings and select the 1282x840 resolution, go to quick game, start the actual game, right at the opening tipoff, go back to options, videosettings to the resolutions list (its greyed out, I know!!!) , press backspace until you see 1278x840 now choose that resolution, now you will notice that the FOV has changed. However it will revert back to normal after you quit the game or restart the match. This is where i need the experts. I want that FOV to stick permanently. Can anyone make that happen?
