basically you just need to raise defensive awareness and blocking to 100, they doesnt fix it 100%, but they sure help. try some sliders, playmakers sliders work good, so does albys'. theyre in the resources section.

I have defense set to 100, blocking set to 100, Contest Shot set to 100, Inside Shot and FG set to 40, playing at Super Star level and I can still dump the ball to to my center by the basket and score almost every time. They don't play any defense near the basket at all. They don't challenge the shot or try to block it. Is there a way we can take the AI from 2k9 and use it for 2k10?

All of the sliders are depending on one another, so there are a lot of different combinations to get a result you want, and tuning them to 100 will not solve the problem. You could try albys' sliders, they should be great, although I always use my custom sliders. I think this should fix your problem:
CPU defense assistance: 90
USER shooting (inc. inside, 3pt etc): ~40
CPU contest shots: ~80
CPU strenght: ~60-70
USER strenght: ~50
CPU def. awareness: 90
CPU on ball defense: ~70-80
User off awareness: ~60
User dunk/layup success: ~70-60

Of course that also depends on how many minutes you play, and game difficulty level. Anyway, give it a try ;)

i played the houston rockets at pro difficulty with not sliders adjusted.
yao ming blocked 4 shots of mine in the regular period.
i was using miami and wade was powering his way to the basket in the 4th and 1st OT.
but when the 2nd OT came, houston's defense was so much. they kept blocking my shots.
i couldn't rely on my dunks at that point.
it was such a frustrating game to play.
i really thought i could win that game.
*sigh*
i'm just starting to play the game on my laptop so it's been difficult playing on the ps2 and now on the pc.
so my problem is the defense at pro level is actually difficult for me at this time

I think your video card has a lot to do with it. When I was playing 2k9, my video was not as good and it was harder for me to move around and score. Now that I have a much better video card, I am able to play at almost max setting and my players move so much quicker that I can score at well.
