create/edit a player then trade it to a team

ex. make a # 23 player from heat then trade it to chicago... hope this works

according to the video i watched, you create hakeem on the rockets with a different team, then clone him onto another team with the number available, edit that hakeem's number and it will change the hakeem on the rockets.....i guess, no idea what that means for the clone, or whatever

I really can't get my MJ to be cloned, how can I achieve this? I followed step by step the procedure but every time I assign MJ to another team in order to clone him, the MJ in the Bulls is traded. No cloning what so ever. Please help.

yes i understand that....i wanted to take the hakeem from 90s west and put him on the rockets? im trying to make my 2001 roster...
