Michael Jordan ratings

Postby pierrebondurant on Thu Apr 15, 2010 8:54 pm

Hello
In recent days, I seek the most authentic ratings about MJ in 1996-1998. I especially had difficulty with Shot In Traffic and Shot Off–Dribble. I use drive in the lane tendencie at 92...
Here are the settings I use. could you correct me if you see settings exaggerate.
I'll post the latest tendencies and signatures.
The goal is that we have the most realistic MJ :

Shot Inside : 99
Shot Close : 97
Mid–Range Shooting : 98
3–Pointers : 79
Free Throws : 84
Shot Low Post : 86
Lay–Ups: 99
Dunking: 95
Standing Dunk :55
Shot In Traffic: 90
Shot Off–Dribble: 87
Hustle :92
Off (non–dominant) Hand Dribble :85
Ball Security :96
Pass :75
Offensive Clutch : 99
Defensive Clutch: 85
Offensive Low Post Skills: 87
Defensive Low Post Skills: 65
Shot–blocking skill : 65
Stealing skill : 85
Maximum speed : 93
Stamina : 92
Vertical jumping : 96
Offensive Rebounding : 67
Defensive Rebounding : 55
Defensive Awareness : 86
Offensive Awareness : 99
Quickness : 92
Player’s potential : 99

3–Pointers : 76 (He was more of a streaky shooter from long range. He was .327 overall from range in his career and .427(95-96), .374 (96-97), .238 (97-98) from 95-98. http://www.nba.com/history/players/jordan_stats.html A 76 rating is enough.)
Free Throws: 83 (See career averages)
Dunking: 90 (He wasn't the Highflyer of late 80ies/ early 90ies any more. He used layups more than before and with a rating of 90 you can still perform the most spectacular dunks. By the way: 99 is reserved for Dr. J. )
Pass :70 (He had some 10+ assists games. He also threw some nice passes but I would not rate it higher than 70 overall.)
Defensive Clutch: 90 (I remember many good steals in the last two minutes of a game)
Maximum speed : 91 (There were faster guys in the league, so 91 is enough)
Vertical jumping : 92 (Same like Dunking)
Offensive Rebounding : 55 (65 is too much)
Defensive Awareness : 90 (I would even consider 95, but I think 90 is enough)
strength : 65 (that is enough fo a 2guard)

yes, I tried Thomas. It's a very nice suggestion. For the legs, it's perfect, but it seems to me that the upper body leans too far forward ...

Well that's the problem. Closest thing to MJ is Ty Thomas, followed by quick launch. Neither of them fit perfectly.

SiT/ SoD around 90 should also work. I would just raise SoD just a little bit because MJ did a lot turnaround fadeway jumpshots of dribble... and he hit many of them. ;)

I would even put it a bit lower considering that in 95-96 and 96-97 the 3pt line was closer...that's why he shot very good 3pt % both of those seasons.
