Steam patch removes small team logos inside 3pt line

Postby KyotoCarl on Tue Apr 06, 2010 6:27 pm

I have the Gamersgate version of the game, and I bought the Steam version just to get the small team logos inside the 3pt line which teams like the Bulls, Spurs, Mavs, etc. has. The international, Gamersgate version, didn't have them, and as I play with the Bulls, not having those two Bulls logos outside the paint takes away like 80% of their whole home court design, I decided to buy the Steam version to have it more realistic.

Now, after updating the Steam version with the patch, I noticed those logos are gonna again. This is, at least to me, a serious problem since it takes away the authenticity and artistic feel of most of the courts.

Has anyone found a solution to this? I don't see too many people talking about this issue.

I know it was talked about alot when the game was just released, but now, seeing as even the american version has this problem too, I think maybe it should be addressed a bit more.

i dont know if using the "_lo" courts would fix this or not but the only true option to fix this is to do something that gets a lot of people banned here for the wrong reason
Opinions are my own.

I think switching to low courts would fix it, as it did with the international version, but that's not really an option I'd like to use.

I'm definetly not encouring anyone to do anything to get banned, and I certainly don't intend to anything that would get me banned. However, I would like see if someone can come up with something which would make the logos visible again.
It's not like the logos are missing, but I'm guessing there's something in the new .exe file which makes them not show up.

I was wondering if maybe there could be some sort of joint effort from patchers where people look through how the court files are set up in order to maybe find a solution which makes the logos turn up through modifying the court files.

There's a whole heep of talanted court patchers on this site, but since noone has paid any particular attention to this problem, they haven't found anything special. I think, if the great court patchers of this site specifically looked for this issue in the court files, they might find something related to the problem.

I started a thread about me wanting to start patching courts, but I don't know where to start. If someone could point me in the right direction I'd pay full attention to trying to solve this problem.

I would be nice if someone came up with a solution so that we can enjoy the small logo's on high resolution courts.

You'd have to configure the .exe, and not many people know c++ or hex, especially in a large file like .exe (I'd guess something like 20 Million lines +).

Dont expect anybody to do it ;)

You also don't know whether Steam checks your .exe to proof that it's a legal copy or not ... if I'm not mistaken...
