User-controlled players don't move

Postby T-Wave on Sat Mar 20, 2010 11:41 pm

Hi guys,

i'm completely new to the nba 2k series... just got done installing 2k10 on my pc and for the last two hours, have been trying to solve a problem which i've been facing.

When in game, I'm unable to move any player i'm controlling. I can make the players shoot and pass the ball, on defense, i can switch the defensive player, but when the player i'm currently controlling catches the ball, he just stands there, not doing anything... when i use the d-pad to move him, i instead get some coaching strategies coming up, such as suitable substitutions, etc. i'm however successful using the keyboard, but don't like playing with the keyboard. I've searched the forums for a while but it seems i'm the only one having this problem. could any body point me out to a solution? i'm getting frustrated... any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

use the joystick instead of the d-pad

if you want to use the Dpad you need to change your controller configuration
Opinions are my own.

Sorry, couldn't come online until today.

Thanks for your suggestion. Actually, there wasn't any problem at all, it was just some stupid oversight by me. I didn't notice that one could scroll further down in the "my controller" menu, where one could set the movement axes. so in my case, it wasn't set.

The only problem i now have is in the drills such as rebounding and shot blocking and so on. Not sure if these are well known glitches, but for every exercise within a drill, i always lose control of the player and have to pause and unpause the drill in order to regain control of him. In the "post offense" drill and the rebounding drill, it's very bad, because pausing and unpausing doesn't help. In the rebounding drill for example, after pausing and unpausing, i end up controlling the player who is shooting in order for the other two players(my player and cpu player) to fight for the rebound. very annoying. Are this well known glitches?

Sorry, if this has been discussed before. Since the end of last week, I now have a very very very limited time-window within which i have internet access and it's tough for me to do searches and read bunches of posts before eventually finding the answers to my problems.
