That's too bad as I have had problems with steam before... I guess I'll just have to live with it. Do I have to be connected to the internet to play it with Steam?

No. Set Steam to "Offline" after connecting once. (File -> Go Offline...)

Thanks. Does steam have a time limit that it can stay offline? I think I remember last year I could use it for a while offline and then it said it needed to update and wouldn't let me open it.

Steam is the only way that I can get it that I know of...

It shouldn't. Never did that to me at least, and I spent countless hours offline playing Half Life 2, NBA 2k9, Portal, Sam & Max games, Mirror's Edge, etc.

Ok thanks. Maybe it was something else I was thinking of. Hopefully I'll be getting NBA 2k10 on Friday when I get some decent internet :D.

One more question... how big is NBA 2k10?

7450MB.

Thanks! How long did it take you to download it?

It took me about 2 hours and a half at 800-850kb/s, I don't have a very fast connection.

I have successfully acquired the game on Steam but whenever I launch the game it couldn't install Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 since I am running 64-bit. Any workaround for this? Thanks!

Hi I got this on steam yesterday too. Running 64-bit Windows 7.

Just select cancel/finish for the .NET Framework. Apparently the game can run without it. Try it?

I also have the .NET Framework problem, but I run Windows XP Home Edition. Framework 2.0 and 3.0 is installed ... so why does the game keep trying to install it? And how can I keep it from trying that ... without always having to push the "cancel" button?

Re: Question about Steam.

Uninstall 3.0 and then let it install, then go back and install 3.0.

Re: Question about Steam.

Seems to have worked. Uninstalled 3.0 and 2.0 and than let Steam reinstall it and voila .. it worked. Kinda silly tho. One would have figured a simple checkup would have sufficed and told the game that there is no need to install it since its already installed ...

It won't let me play because it says it needs to update Steam!!   . And either my internet is going too slow to update it or the internet network I'm on is blocking it... Steam says something about I can't play in offline mode because I don't have any login details stored on the computer. It worked fine for about five days. Stupid Steam    . Anyway around this?
