free throws

Postby debiler on Fri Oct 16, 2009 6:43 pm

Hi there,

I was just wondering if it's just me and my style of play or if everybody has that problem: I hardly get to the line. My team average is 5 FT attempts per game, which is ridiculously low. And I play 12 min quarters and have almost all foul sliders maxed out (Rules: all to 95, CPU commit fouls tendency at 100). Is there any way I can get fouled more frequently?
I noticed that when I call for plays, I will draw more fouls. But I hardly use plays anymore, because they don't work too well.

Any help?

That is strange, I actually have both sliders at 70/65 and get to the line about 5- to 10 times in 5(!) mins quarters. Maybe its like in real life and you just dont play aggressively enough.
So you must drive to the whole more often and try to force fouls. I dont know if this helps but when I have a mismatch quickness wise I use a screen or an isolation play and try to draw fouls.

First off, thanks for the replies.

Well, commit fouls is already at 100, as are the foul calling sliders... And about driving to the hoop: I get about 60% of my points in the zone, which is already a bit much, I think.

You should also raise the defensive awareness (I have it at 90) for the CPU as well as a bit boost the on ball defense. It seems like the cpu gives you to easy baskets. Maybe you could also boost the contest shot slider a bit. I have them like this:

Dfe Awareness: 90
Contest Shots: 60
On Ball def: 65

I also have the "play passing lanes" at 85 because it really kills those passes inside which lead to those easy baskets way too often.

I pretty much see the same thing, 12-14 attempts per team per game. That is with shooting fouls at 95, loose 100, reach 60 or so

Also under commit fouls for user I think I have 95 and 100 for the AI

Thanks hova- !

Raising def. awareness did it for me. I had tuned it down to 45, because when I started playing 2k10, I couldn't get any open looks.
Had 19 FT attempts in my last game, which is ok for me. :D
