Why am I getting transparent gears?

Thu Apr 15, 2010 10:32 pm

I'm currently trying to learn how to make these gears but whenever I try to color the said accessories on photoshop, they appear to be transparent in-game? How do you fix this?

Maybe the alpha channel needs to be colored white.

And how do I do that? :(

In photoshop. It's on the same window as the layers, it's just a different tab. There are RGB, red, green, and blue channels and there should be a last channel called "alpha".

I'm not seeing any alpha cannel beside my layer tab. How do I make it show?

save it as a dds to edit the alpha channel

If the alpha channel is not there, do what damonrulz said. Save it as a dds and then reopen it to edit the alpha channel. You can create the alpha channel yourself, but the dds plugin doesn't like that sometimes.

Hey, I found my alpha channel. The window was hidden so I enabled it. I created an alpha and colored it white as you said. But it still turned out the same? T_T

I guess it's more complex than I thought. What IFF file are the gears in?
