HOW TO PUT REAL DRAFTEES IN YOUR DYNASTY by SERAPH

Resources for NBA Live 2005.

Yeah ok, well shall we do that then, however I dont really know the players well enough, it wud probably be easier if we each just made a list with what we think the players destiny's, score area's and Dunkpacks are. Once again I dont know how effective i would be a rating the dunkpacks and score areas since i havent seen most of these players play often.

Also Joeb, do you have ratigns for Shaun May?? I couldnt find any.

Sean May? Could work something out there.

I'll take it on myself to rate Katelynas (this years find!), and Louis Williams aswell while I'm at it.

Dunkpkg's are THAT huge of a deal, but the ones we "know" should be set, destinys is impossible, as it is for all players but it's till important.

I'll try to rerate some first rounders, based on scouting reports and comparing to already rated non-rookies in the game...

Felton and McCants too. Andriuskevicius seems perfect, we just have to give him excellent potential. Who's going to do the destinies?

Okay, it should be simple. I propose each one uses Mark's template:

1. Bogut
2. M. Williams
3. Paul
4. D. Williams
5. Andriuskevicius
6. Vazquez
7. Taft
8. Green
9. Aleksandrov
10. Felton
11. Webster
12. McCants
13. Splitter
14. Villanueva
15. Frye
16. Wright
17. May
18. Fernandez
19. Granger
20. Petro
21. Ilyasova
22. Miles
23. Ellis
24. Graham
25. Warrick
26. Blatche
27. Simien
28. Winston
29. Garcia
30. Turiaf
31. Gomes
32. Stoudamire
33. Gelabale
34. J. Williams
35. Gilchrist
36. Ewing
37. Basden
38. Lorbek
39. Robinson
40. Gigli
41. Kleiza
42. Rivera
43. S. Williams
44. Lee
45. L. Williams
46. Mancinelli
47. Head
48. Thompson
49. Mensah-Bonsu
50. Azubuike
51. Elder
52. Banks
53. Hervelle
54. Hodge
55. Taylor
56. Wright
57. Maxiell
58. Sloka
59. Roberts
60. Anderson
61. Troutman
62. Katelynas
63. Greene

and put their proposed DESTINY/DUNKPACK/SCOREAREA next to each name. Once we do that we can use the average of our opinions and deduct a result. I'm still waiting to see if andrew can help us with the ratings, so we should fill our time with this.

What say you?

Okay, just a note. Any potential from good and above, combined with a sterting overall of 55 or so, will probably make the rookie a 60+ overall rating 2 or 3 years maximum into the game. With an overall of more than 60 the player is established in the league. So we must be careful not to overrate their potential... more averages than anything, good for a few ( highschoolers mostly ), and excellent for a hanful of them. Do you agree?

Yeah, and I have my share of busts aswell. T-A-F-T for one.

But yeah, that seems resonable, aspecially since this seems to be a pretty average draftclass.

6 = bad, 5 = Not so much, no, OK = 4, Resonable = 3, Good = 2, Very Good = 1, Excellent = 0?

u should also fix monta ellis

Strengths: A phenominal scorer ... The top high school scorer since Dajuan Wagner… Season high of 72 points and averages close to 40 … Has a complete offensive arsenal … Scores in a variety of ways … Has a pure shot with NBA range ... Has no problems creating his own shots and is not fazed by double and triple teams … Can beat you off the dribble … Very strong mentally ... Terrific handle and an underrated passer … Has the ability to find teammates with excellent court vision … Very quick and explosive … Will rise up and dunk on you … Flashy player that’s impossible to guard on the high school level …

Weaknesses: A tweener ... Lacks great size for the 2 guard position ... Doesn’t have the skills needed to play point … Desperately needs to put on weight as he’s rail thin ... A team will need to be patient with him since he isn't physically strong enough to handle the physical play of the NBA and especially a long season ... Could have trouble guarding bigger off guards ... Shot can be inconsistent at times …

Hey so who is doing the second rounders?

I'll do them if no one else is cos we need to speed this project up, i know there are quite a few dynastiers who are waiting on this to start thier offseason.

I could just continue on with the second rounders, using Ryans as a base??

Kool, well we'll wait and see what Weaver wants you to work on.

Are you very familiar with the draftees game styles? Because you could do the dunkpacks and scoreareas for me whihc would really help.

I'm experiencing some issues with the rookies in my dynasty.

I played one full season with the Sonics before adding the rookies (with ratings from Misow/Ryan Giggs' patch) into my dynasty. I manually edited the DBF files (players.dbf and appearance.dbf) and made sure the playerid numbers matched each other for every player. Took me forever, but the rookies are in the game now.

However, I reckon some of the rookies have appearance problems. Some of them just look identical to those of Misow/Ryan Giggs' dbf files, some other players seem to have a different appearance than they should (amongst others: Pops Mensah Bonsu, Johan Petro etc.). I double-checked the appearance.dbf file and clearly their in-game appearance is different than what appears in the dbf file. For example, Pops Mensah Bonsu now appears with light brown arms, contrasting with his dark black head, with forearms bands, different shoes than the ones I selected in the dbf data that I pasted into the dynasty. Johan Petro still has his black cyberface, on a white body. On some other players, it is a size problem. The players don't have the height they are given in the dbf. For instance, according to the dbf file, Nate Robinson should be really short (ie 5'9 or 6'0) and in my game, he is freaking 6'11!!! Same for Villanueva, who is 6'0 instead of being 6'11. It seems that some rookies have "traded" their appearance with other rookies.

Once again, I checked the dbf for those players, and the data seems fine - only it is not translated correctly in the game, and when I tried to change the data in the dbf to make some tests, there was no change in the game.

Anybody else experienced this problem? I insist this doesn't incur on ALL rookies, only on selected ones. Maybe there is a field in the appearance.dbf that needs to be tweaked?

Thanks in advance!

Did you install the rookies using seraphs installer?? becasue I experienced the same problem as you when i tried to do it by hand, serpahs installer seems to eliminate that problem for me.

Well ive done an almost complete Beta version of the patch, basically its all the players in the above list except form the ones ive mentioned.

All rookies were rated using Ryan Giggs ratings as a starter. I havent included the fields THREEPTSAT and CPASSISTS as i wasnt too sure what they meant exactly. Also I havent included the destiny's or updated scoreareas and dunkpacks as Weaver of Joeb are yet to submit their lists.

I have been given this site LINK from Illuzionz, which is very helpful except that the ratigns are a little too high. I would have used this especially for the rookies I couldnt find ratings for in Ryans Roster, but since I dont know the rookies well enough I didnt want to ruin the ratings.

So here is a "to-do-list"
 Add THREEPTSAT and CPASSISTS to the template.
 Complete all rookies ratings, im pretty sure Illuzionz will be able to help me with this.
 Add the updated destinys, scoreareas and dunkpacks.
 Proof read all ratings (Basically just go over all the ratings to make sure they are pretty much on target).

Anyway I catn really go too much further without hearing from Weaver or Joeb.

Peace

EDIT: Actually Weaver I think we have done the "THREEPTSAT field, except it is called "THREEPTATT" and im not sure what the CPASSISTS field is but it seems to be completed in all the rookies that the update does.
