HOW TO PUT REAL DRAFTEES IN YOUR DYNASTY by SERAPH

I also like the misow/ryan ratings. But it seems "unfair" that Seraph should do all that himself, it's alot of bloody editing. I would be happy to do parts of it, but going away for the major part of the weekend.
But if it needs expanding at any point, or if it isn't finished by monday I would be more than willing to help.

I made a "template" for the ratings and I ask to some ppl to help filling the notepad lines with misow/ryan ratings.

I will posted here later so any help will be welcome (Specially from ANDREW) cause I think the misow/ryan ratings are alittle bit high dont get me wrong they are cool taking NCAA stats , but NBA not equal to NCAA

ØN¥X wrote:Seraph, will you maybe release a patch with complete installation? That would be great! I want the new rookies for my dynasty so bad...

Sorry cant be done, and besides I didnt make the rookies patch
But wont take more than 30 minutes for real

Joéb wrote:Excellent. Nothing short of excellent.

Thanks a bundle.

But, alas, a question regarding the ratings. If you post that kind of thing, will it be the ratings or the ratings found in this thread or the actual ratings so that you run the .bat after completed draft?

My idea is to make a bat to run after the TRAINING CAMP (thats when the ratings and new draftees are generated)

But as someone said all the scouting will be pointless
But I can live with that :D

our players.dbf IDs or our appearance.dbf IDs. From the way the prgram is structured, I'm guessing we should put in our players.dbf ID numbers. Right?

Sorry if I wasnt clear enough but YOU DONT NEED TO EDIT THE DATABASE AT ALL , so you are right put YOUR ID numbers in the notepad

One more thing I added SAJASIK, who is SARAUNAS JASIKEVICIOUS made by Homaboy and is not in any patch, so u can grab him in 4 quarter or just deleted him from the notepad

and the computer will draft maximun of 60 players, and will leave a couple (i think only 6) as FA
OTHERS WILL BE DELETED DOESNT MATTER WHAT YOU DO, so you may have as FA a generated rookie and for instance a real rookie with a rank of 59 gone

I think we need to insert those rating in the second field as well, the one that is used to determine regular players' previous season stats. Those fields have an effect on rookie ratings, especially if those rookies have been scouted in the dynasty before installing the patch. Just check this thread, there's a link to a relative thread...

No real need to do that, cause the idea is to run this new batch after the trainning camp

of course like I said all previous scouting reports and scouting 1 on 1 will be pointless

Yeah the only reason to put the ratings in those other fields is that it would add a level of varience to how the ratings come out after the draft, ie if you put the fg rating for a player at 65 after the draft it could be 65+/- 3 or so points approx, I think this is quite kool cos t means you dont knw exactly what you are going to get.

I see. Maybe if I gat the time ans Seraph permits me to use his template, I can add those fields in for those who are interested in having the rookies properly rated before training camp...

Download the portraits and CFs from this thread:

http://www.nbaliveforums.com/ftopic23973.php

Then unzip all the files into your sgsm folder, and then follow Seraph's instructions to get th erooikes into your dynasty.

The ratings aren't ready yet, we're working on them...

I've finished the template, just added the new fields in Seraph's one...

I used Zach's portraits and Cfs, and Misow/Ryan ratings, so we need those three ONLY to give permission.

I am missing ratings for Ersan Ilyasova, Nemanja Aleksandrov and CJ Miles from the first round.

I'll checj the second round draftees later. I've already done 14 rookie ratings, tested it and it worked smoothly. So I want anyone interested to do some minor typing work to contact me via PM... It's easy , really...

Note: in the overall rating field I used misow/ryan ratings decreased by 3 -5 points because it refers to ratings before the training camp. They will get back to normal after the training camp.

It will take some trial and error techniques to get the ratings correct so I'm assuming that in a week we can be ready, at the most.

So are you doing an installer for after the training camp or before?? Shall we work together?? Sorta seems studpid for us to be doing the same things at once...........

EDIT: Thought we might as well update the rookies destinys at the ame time, shouldnt be hard to put it in there.

Before the training camp. For after the camp ONLY, Seraph's template will work just nicely.

I just want the rookies to be scoutable and participate in workouts performing according to skill and not randomly.

Send me your e-mail via PM so that I can send you the notepad with the template to give it a test.

I will need initial ratings for Aleksandrov, Ilyasova and CJ Miles first of all...

We'll share the work once we have all the data...

DAMN I've already made the draft so it wont work for me....

It's easy, we just delete the extra fields from our template and then it will be the same as your template.

Actually Seraph it WILL work for you as is, it's just that the rookies will have various stats for the 04/05 season, but will still be considered rookies with 0 years experience. Deleting th eextra fields will delete those uncessary stats.

Will you (Dweaver) work as some kind of co-ordinator? So that I, Ryan, you and Cervantes(?) doesn't do the same things.

Okay.

-I have made th efirst 14 rookies

-Mark is doing the rest of the first round

-Ryan shoudl do the rookies from Ronny Turiaf (rookie ranking = 30 ) to Dijon Thompson (rookie ranking = 47 )

-Cervantes should do the rookies from Mensah-Bonsu (rookie ranking = 48) to Vladimir Vereemenko (rookie ranking = 65 )

-You do ratings for Aleksandrov, Ilyasova and CJ Miles. If there are any rookies in the 2nd round that misow/ryan have not provided ratings for, tell them to inform us so that we can make them... unless Ryan wants to do it himself, having already done the rest along with misow.)

I need Ryan and Cervantes' e-mails to send them the notepad template, but I don't have the time today. I've sent it you, maybe you can forward it to them... (Y)

Yeah, NP.

I've done Nemjana, Ersan and Martell Webster (thought I read somewhere he wasn't done).

Ryan and Cervantes: Drop me a PM with your mails to get the template.

Try to save regularly as a temporary .bat file, and chec yo see if it works. the code is a bit strict, so if you miss or add a space somewhere it might not work... Just test regularly, I'd say every 5 rookies...

No, probably you didn't read Seraph's post thoroughly. Once you copy/paste his appearamce.dbf into a notepad file, you must edit the player IDs to correspond with the player IDs in the players.dbf notepad file. (Seraph's first )

Do it again, step by step... I'm sure you just missed something...

For example, in Seraph's appearance notepad template, Andrew Bogut's line is :

"cdbflite.exe" appearance.dbf /case /filter:APPEARID=1702 /field:ID7="ANBOGUT";HEIGHT="84";WEIGHT="242";COLOR="1";BODYTYPE="2";MUSCLETEXT="1";DELETED="FALSE" /update

The 'APPEARID=1702' part is the one you must change. Open your players.dbf file with .DBF commander, do a search for Bogut and see waht's his playerID. Put that number instead of 1702 in the above line and Bogut's appearance will be correctly aligned. Do this procedure for every line/rookie in the appearance template. Then save as a .bat file, put in your dynasty save folder and execute.

If it doesn't work after this, I don't know what else to tell you other than to change things manually in the DBF editor...
