Jersey Creation Tutorial

Hi guys, here I want to share how to create jersey in simple way. Just follow this steps:

1. Making Jersey Texture
I adapted from Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) kits editing, I make jersey template that you can download here or maybe you want to try the Adidas Revolution 30 template here.

How to use?
For example I want to change free agents practice jersey (agenpr1a.viv). First check neck type for it with NBA Live 08 Editor.



As you can see the neck type is V-Neck 3, so I will use template v_neck_3_jersey and open it in Photoshop. On layers tab you will see 5 sections/folder, there are:

1. Signature: here you can write your name as signature or jersey creator.
2. Bumbs: here is the bumps or jersey wrinkle overlays.
3. Stuff: here you can add team logo, adidas logo and anything else that related to logo.
4. Jersey: here you can edit top side (jersey) texture.
5. Short: here you can edit bottom side (short) texture.

For #4 and #5 you will see Overlays section and Colors sections. And you should to edit on Colors section. To change base color of your jersey fill color on main color layer, and you can add more pattern there. Don't make any change of Overlays section except you are Photoshop's expert user

I have finish with my texture:



Save it in PNG format, for example I give my texture name fa_prac.png. I will open my png file on Photoshop and change this opacity to 10% and save again.

2. Packaging Into VIV

I create tools called NBA Live 08 Jersey Workshops, you can download here.

1. Select base jersey that you want to use, I choose Atlanta Practice Home so I will browse to atlapr1h.viv on sgsm/uniforms.
2. I will open my jersey texture (fa_prac.png).
3. Give shp name, free agents practice that you can use in Individual Practice is called agenpr1a.viv, so I will type agenpr1a.
4. Hit Process button and wait until finish.
5. Save your new jersey to sgsm/uniforms.

3. Create Jersey Preview

Now I want to make jersey preview that appear on selecting jersey, related file is jerseys~fa~fa_pr1a for free agents practice jersey. You can copy it from another file that you can found on sgsm folder, but please to remember to renaming into your related team abbreviation, I use hex editor to change it. The file that containing jersey preview on jerseys~fa~fa_pr1a called fa_pr1a.fsh, so I will export the file using bigGui.

Next step is making preview jersey, from template I will open jersey_preview on Photoshop. Because I want make for V-Neck 3 so I click layer visibility of v neck 3 and turn off the round neck layer visibility. Same with making jersey texture, change anything you want.

Save it in DDS format, and export to fa_pr1a.fsh use FshX then importing back to jerseys~fa~fa_pr1a.viv. Copy your work to sgsm folder and ready to test it.

i cant get the necklines like you guys have,there must be an easier way to cut that stuff out?? CONFUSED

thanks but when i save as .png and use the jersey tool and extract using Biggui it gives me the jersey default for the team when i open it in Fshx it doesnt show mines?what could i be doing wrong guys?

I tried that here's what i have so far...When i extract using bigGUI i get the default nets jersey not the one i created. Hlp?

Thanks i left out the logo on the jersey shorts because i couldn't get the tool to work now im trying using the update

Can you take a look at number editing as a possibility for future updates, it is the biggest pain in jersey editing. The fastest method takes 40 minutes for 101 numbers, and that isn't possible with your jersey creation tool as it means putting numbers in the jersey texture, can you have a look and see if there is anything you can do, cause that is the annoying thing about live 08 jersey editing.

I seem to just not have this work for me
i choose newjhome as my template
i choose my png i made in photoshop
i named SHP as newjhome is this why i am getting the default nets jersey and not mines??
should i give the SHP a new name?
