Title ----- Console ----- Handheld (1) ----- PC
NBA LIVE 11 ----- X ----- X ----- _____
_____ = blank, nothing there, nada, not supported, be surprised
No mention of any unannounced NBA titles for the PC that could become NBA Live Online either.

That's a real shame. With 2K already getting the edge in sales, I can only see more disgruntled former NBA Live PC players making the switch if they haven't already.

Wow my theory of the reason Mr. Wang left was bcuz they wanted sale to the platforms they abandoned which were wii and pc which i could understand. I guess i was wrong. I gotta say im even more disappointed now bcuz God knows wat direction their headed in now. Now their sales could see a major decline.

I don't think the lack of a PC version will change their approach to the development of the game and what they want to achieve with it, but it certainly leaves part of the audience with little choice but to look to their competitor.
Tue Feb 09, 2010 10:36 am
wait, you thought that Wang left because they didnt expand to the PC and Wii?
Mike Wang focuses on 1 thing, gameplay....I severely doubt he's ever really cared about PC releases....or the Wii release since he worked on the 360/PS3 versions

I took atlwarya9's post to mean he thought Mike left EA because NBA Live would be returning to the PC/Wii. Either way, I highly doubt his decision had anything to do with platforms.
Tue Feb 09, 2010 10:43 am
ooo, yea i guess i can see that now, but yea, it had nothing to do with that either way

I've gone ahead and run the story on the main page and updated the various Wiki pages. As you noted, it's basically the official word on the matter, no point delaying the announcement any further. Should the highly unlikely happen, we can always post a follow-up/retraction.
Tue Feb 09, 2010 10:56 am
I thought so. But as we said, it's highly unlikely to have anything to do with that, much more likely a case of what Mike wanted to do with NBA Live 11's gameplay.

For ease of visual:

Live and Jam are under Q3.

Are they aiming for a September release or something it does seem odd its in the 3rd Q.

The release dates in previous years have been first week of October (Q4), so maybe they're just going to release a week earlier. Likely it's tentative & will still release first week of Q4.

There's been a late September release before so it wouldn't surprise me too much but I'd agree it's probably meant as more general timeframe at this stage. Late September/early October or Fall 2010 is the timeframe I'm currently using on the Wiki pages relating to NBA Live 11.

Well for some odd reason I am enjoying nba live 05 pc and nba live 06 pc more than nba live 10 as of right now and if that continues i may not even get nba live 11. Idk if it improves even more i might consider it. But seeing how important Mike Wang was to Nba live 10 i dont expect much improvement in Nba live 11.

Are you talking about NBA Live 10 patched or unpatched? I was enjoying it a lot unpatched, save for Dynasty Mode's shortcomings.
Wed Feb 10, 2010 7:14 pm
I play it unpatched. With good sliders i really enjoy the game. I guess its because i already play more of nba 2k10. I just bought nba live 05 pc and havent played that since i had it on ps2. And have not gotten to play any live 06 until after my pc got repaired. So 05 & 06 feel new to me again. Plus no issues w/ dynasty mode.

I keep toying with the idea of clearing my Xbox 360 cache and playing the game unpatched, though it'd be a shame not to be able to play online when I wanted and a hassle to download the updates for all the other games again. Some of the changes in the patches were worthwhile, hopefully they're retained for NBA Live 11.

Fuck, patching 2k looks good to me at the moment.

Certainly looks like it'll be our only option next year, aside from the older PC releases.

Quite.

EA seems like they doesnt really care for PC users anymore.
Mon Feb 15, 2010 4:18 pm
The PC version wasn't selling very well so the numbers sadly weren't on our side.
