What is a patch? What is the concept of a patch?
I got Live 10 but I want to get 'patches' to get a better experience. Unfortunately I do not have a Xbox Live subscription.
Can I still get a patch? If so, how?

In the simplest terms, a patch is an add-on, update, fix or modification for a game. Patches for NBA Live fall into two basic categories.

Community Made Patches

These are unofficial and update/modify the game in some way. Think of all the mods and add-ons for first person shooters, we've got a similar culture here in this community that is all about tinkering with the game. Since NBA Live 10 is a console only release, there won't be any community made patches for it. About all we can do is share custom settings, rosters and created players.

Official updates by EA Sports

As you may have guessed by that description, these updates come from EA Sports themselves. They're the ones that attempt to fix issues with the game that we ourselves can't do anything about with ratings edits or slider tweaks. They may also add or remove elements of the game to fix certain problems.
