http://www.ncaastrategies.com/utopia/sh ... hp?t=67169Taking a page out of the Madden NFL 10 and NCAA Football 10 playbooks, EA Sports will use this year's NBA Draft to promote both of its basketball videogame franchises. EA Sports will be a first-time presenting sponsor for this year's NBA Draft, which takes place in New York on June 25.
"EA Sports is our longest standing video game partner, dating back to 1991 and its presenting partnership of the NBA Draft will deepen their connection to our game and our fans," said Mark Tatum, NBA executive vice president of marketing partnerships. "The NBA Draft continues to be one of our most anticipated events on the NBA calendar and will provide another avenue for EA Sports to promote NBA Live."

Inlight of 2k announcing their coverboy today/tomorrow it appears it may have forced EA to release their Coverboy/s early. Marcus has leaked this on both his twitter page and on OS forums....and is expected to get in trouble by PR department by it.
Twitter reply
Guys, no worries on our Cover guy. We think we have a good one

We "could" announce shortly. I'll probably get in trouble for this...

At least now EA crew isn't willing to be left behind by 2K, even if it's just a cover announcement.

Pretty good timing for both developers to make that announcement, as good as the Draft at any rate.

If they announce it now, won't that hurt their draft day hype? I say wait.

Perhaps, but they could always make another announcement at the Draft. Presumably they'd still reveal the NCAA Basketball '10 cover player then.
