Talk about NBA Live 10 here.
Fri May 15, 2009 3:39 am
OK so we got a little info about Live 2010. What the hell was it? There is no easports live for 5/11 in the archives. If it was that small someone could just write it on a post for all to see. Could anyone who has heard or saw the show explain what was talked about for NBA live.

Got some info for ya right here.....not much though
first off FTP link
http://www.easportsworld.com/static/spo ... /EAS_Live/I listened to Marcus' segment and here are my notes
NBA finals or earlier for first info
admitted NBA Live simulations are not great (eg last year Yao being simulated as playoffs MVP)
talking about yao being a monster online
wants community thoughts on rookie overall ratings for this coming year
unknown how that will happen yet though (community communiticating with him, probably official forums)
"Mondays with Marcus" going to be a regular thing
ta daaaa
I did get freaked out at the official forums though since some kid bumped the NBA Live 09 PC cancelled thread

Changed the title of the thread.
got a chance to listen to last week's show finally. No new information. They just talked about the Magic over Celtics and more about the Rookies and their ratings thing.

I listened to it last night and was disappointed was hoping to hear more about the game and well not 5-6 days old NBA Playoffs info by the time I got to hear it. I am really hoping for more info this Monday with Marcus episode.

Hopefully they run it, even though it is a National holiday here in the states

I suppose their hands are still tied with the PR department. "Early June" is creeping up though so the info should start trickling out again soon.

Listened to Monday's interview with our man Marcus.
dwight was known to be coverboy since before the playoffs. it wasn't a response to kobe being on 2k10.
dwight is into video games
"Its easy to go with KObe or grab Lebron for a cover. But EA picks players who are just about to explode in the next coming years" "Its better to get the players on the cover that will explode, not stars right now"
NBA Live going back to basketball culture this year. No specifics
Stuff about Mos Def
been too red white and blue lately, we need to get back to hip hop, sneaker heads, kinda people
"Easier to break into Fort Knox than to get info on Live 10"
Weekly blogs now talking about everything. Can't say what the schedule is for what info will be released.
"Witness" something special quote again for today's blog
We aren't Hardcore, but Informed

Nice to hear something....I expect next Monday we'll get more info and some questions answered.

I figured that Howard would've been locked up long before the NBA Finals. There'd be too many details to work out as far as getting the player signed and making arrangements as far as marketing and promotion is concerned to leave it until the last minute. This year, it just happened to work out pretty well for both developers.

just listened to monday's episode
notes
hosts said early build is playing very realistic, they can be quite critical of 09, so i guess that is a good thing
played updated cavs vs magic
gameplay info is "going to get there" "in time" aka, shut up and wait
wanted to stress DNA vs competition with this last year with that first blog
this week's blog, drum roll, initial rookie ratings, overall ratings and, rookie DNA
Listening to these is actually kinda painful. They are talking up about this great game yet are being so vague and not giving any information. Sucks..
Thu Jul 02, 2009 9:30 am
Hopefully PR will ease up soon and we'll get that steady stream of info and media.

I really am wondering if this is all "2k's fault" with the living rosters
Fri Jul 03, 2009 1:24 am
IIRC, Player DNA was announced first by EA last year, then 2K followed it up with Living Rosters. I don't know why EA is worried about their ideas being "stolen" again. DNA is hella better than Living Rosters, since EA had more time to implement it, unlike 2K which I think they just rushed the application of Living Roster to the game.
Fri Jul 03, 2009 1:57 am
well the living roster was just some dweeb that the 2k elite wrote off immediately
and what was better with the DNA was the manual update Marcus did every Friday for updated shoes, accessories and other crap DNA can't change.
But back to Marcus, when they released the LeBron pic he said something similar to him not being worried about releasing this because he was sure the competition had the pre game ritual in there as well.
I dont get it, what can they do? Announce the full Be A Pro mode and then 2k's all like, yo, 24/7 mode is back from the dead assholes?

At the end of the day, both games are obviously going to try and do similar things as they're both NBA games and vying for the attention (and dollars) of the same audience. Plus, I'd say that some things are just the natural progression of the genre, becoming standard features of sports games in general.
