Playoffs Mode and shorter seasons are definitely two basic elements whose return is overdue. I'm sure we'll find out in due course.

I really hope that NBA live 10 will be equal or better ( ) than NBA 2k10. I still haven't bought any 2k-s. If they screw up then i will be 2k-s bandwagoner. I want to be faithful to NBA live. :P

Have you played any of the 2K demos? I remain a Live player myself but I always like to check out both demos so that I can see what 2K is doing as well.

Yes, one time. That was 2k9. I tried it with my brother's PS3. But i really want to stick to NBA live. 2k is good, but i am EA production fan.
I am getting my own PS3 when NBA live 10 comes out. I haven't bought PS3 because of my loan.

Let's hope that NBA live 10 will rock! (Y)

dude i am doing the exact same thing. Im gonna get a ps3 this friday but i am more of a ea lover than 2k. I still like nba 2k series but i enjoy live more though.

I also hope in live 10 they add more jersey selections, like some retro, and other alternates.

I used to be a die hard EA fan once upon a time...

I daresay a few of their releases have turned away a fair share of diehards. Hopefully '10 will turn things around; I'm sure there are some people who won't have anything to do with the brand again but so long as it delivers the goods, it's good news for those of us who will.

True, everyone can enjoy that way.

Me though, 2K just delivers. Live used to, which is why I stuck to it...till they stopped. So if 2K stops delivering, I might move away from them, till then, 2K is my game of choice.

Had some good times with live games, but it's like what Jackal said.

adding a specific signature would be cool for example when Kobe fades he uses his shoulder to feel the when the defense is and if there to close he usually bangs or gives them a little bump to there body to create space and once in a while hell do the windshield whipper fake

Agreed, a few more traits like that would be nice in addition to the shooting forms and Go To Moves they already have.

Any chance of shot stick in Live '10? Once you move away from face buttons, it sucks to go back to them.

Still a lot more to learn, but I wouldn't get your hopes up on that one.

We may not have a shot stick like 2K but we are apparently getting greater control for our shots and shot types thanks to Mike Wang.

shot stick would be nice but made in a way that's different from 2k's

or keeping dribbling on the right stick where it has always worked well sounds good as well

the only way I could see a shot stick working in live is if they do something similar as Fight Night
by itself, the right stick does dribbling/triple thread, ect, but if you hold down the left trigger it becomes a shot stick

I wouldn't really go for holding down a trigger just to take a jumpshot, so there's no real point....it would be nice if they gave the option to choose to use it or not (disable/enable in controller options)....

well if they were to implement it, I would honestly rather have it control like the analog free throws where you have to follow through instead of just flicking it like 2k.

I mean if your going to implement the right analog for shooting, might as well make it as realistic as possible instead of just copying 2k and shafting most of the fans of Live to cater to the people who are getting sick of 2k.

I agree. I didn't mean for them to copy it. It can & should be improved upon. All that being said, I can't see them adding it. Either way, I can live without it. Shame they don't have draft class importing. That's something that's harder to live without.

The problem is, as far as the Xbox 360 versions is concerned it's a feature that will be completely useless outside the US and Canada, since NCAA Basketball isn't released internationally and the 360 has the issue of regional discs.

That's alright for us PS3 gamers (Y)

Re: NBA Live '10: What We Know (So Far...)

Well, obviously, but the fact remains it's a feature that would be useless to a large portion of the target audience. That's not to say that should prevent it from being implemented, but it's got to be one of the factors that's keeping it from being a priority. I've also been told that the release dates play a role in that too.

Re: NBA Live '10: What We Know (So Far...)

Most people don't start their long running dynasties until at least a month into the real NBA season (end Nov/start Dec), which is in the ballpark of when the college game comes out I believe, so time is not a factor. I could understand for when game use to be released closer to March Madness.

In the end, you are right. Demographically, it doesn't make a lot of sense as perhaps only 30,000 people would make use out of it (assuming say 10% of people buying the college bball game). If NBA Live 2010 moves say 1.5 million units, it's a feature that only 2% of NBA Live 2010 gamers (i.e. the hardcore dynasty heads) will use.

Re: NBA Live '10: What We Know (So Far...)

True, but it would probably be easier if the NCAA title came out first, you played through a season with players to export and then imported them into NBA Live. I see what you're saying of course and as a Dynasty geek I definitely think it would be a nice idea and that Dynasty has enough replay value to keep players going until the next release if they're into it, but I also see where EA Sports is coming from. If they can secure the rights to release NCAA Basketball internationally though, I think it's something that has to be done sooner or later.

They do have the rights to release it internationally but choose not to release it region free (on Xbox 360) due to the demographics (they figure target market is North American male college/uni students). I picked up my copies of College Hoops 2k 7 & 2k8 from Play Asia (Hong Kong). If NCAA Basketball '10 makes a huge leap (CH2k8 is still the king of college bball games), then I'll buy it from Play Asia. If the import feature was there, I'd automatically buy NBA Live '10 as well whether the game is good or not. Heck, when I bought College Hoops 2k8, I also bought NBA 2k8 (US version since I believe version in Australia didn't have import draft class feature from what a mate told me) at the same time, even though I definitely would not have bought NBA2k8 by itself if not for the import draft class feature.
