NBA Live '10 Cover Player Speculation

True, having a widely recognisable, popular and marketable player on the cover is a solid marketing strategy.

For some people it might. It shouldn't though, any connection between the cover player and the quality of the game is purely coincidental. Take NBA Live 99 for example; fine game, Antoine Walker on the cover.

I think they got it right with fine game (for its time) and coverplayer that exemplifies it with Live 2000.

No they are just custom covers someone made and not the official covers.

Any covers with Kobe can be ruled out as community made custom covers at this point. They look good, though.

coverboy release looks to be tomorrow according to Marcus's twitter page

something tells me we MAY tell you guys who the coverguy is tomorrow...

Someone has officially leaked it but their post was removed so I didn't get to see who was chosen.

The Orlando Sentinel has reported it is Dwight Howard on the cover for Live 10. So we have a Finals line up coverboy fight, which game will win in 2010.

So much for my prediction.

Looks like it'll be Dwight Howard then. It makes sense to have a coverboy who are both playing each other in the finals.

I've had the image cover for the last few hours but have been busy with work and teaching my PC classes.

Design wise cover looks great I reckon.

It's certainly a bit different from previous designs but it looks good all the same. Ultimately, the quality of the game inside is what really matters though.

Wonder if EA had a contingency plan if the Magic didn't make it to the Finals; would Dwight still appear as the cover boy...

EA chose the coverboy after the Magics made it to the final. (Am I right?) I think they planned to choose the coverboy from one of the conference champions anyway. If 2K make their move first then EA will still have another team to choose their coverboy from.

Ok... it wasn't the adopted strategy for EA for previous Live releases I guess, since Wade, Arenas and Parker were only made known after the Finals and Draft were over.
