That really doesn't make much sense at all.

well, they went with the minimum of 24 teams this year, and i think all but two teams deserved their inclusion, with the exceptions being Japan and Mexico. Lebanon definately deserve a spot, (along with Poland, Israel, Latvia....) seeing as though they seem to qualify for the WC every time, but Japan and Mexico just have much larger video game markets to sell to, and thats why they are included.
I, as much as anyone want them to increase the number of FIBA teams by next year, so i guess its up to us to go on to the NBA Live boards and make some noise about it.
Mon Oct 05, 2009 3:59 am
percentage of people in the respective country that buy Live 10 comes into play as well.
Mon Oct 05, 2009 8:59 am
no it dosent. alot of lebanses people are around the world espicially in australia. and poland wat da hell they are ranked 55th.cmon
Mon Oct 05, 2009 10:45 am
Actually, it is a factor. The producers have stated that in addition to the world rankings, they try to cater to all the different regions/markets and also make allowances based on the foreign born players in the NBA (Poland, for example, being represented by Marcin Gortat). With only 24 teams, there's going to be at least one controversial exclusion year-to-year. For that matter, unless every single country in the world is represented there'll always be complaints.
Mon Oct 05, 2009 1:06 pm
ok. basketball in lebanon is very popular. who is gortat. he warms the bench for howard. poland is ranked 55. lebanese players have played in the nba.GO CELTICS.
Mon Oct 05, 2009 3:18 pm
lebanon probably should be in but they would get floged by maybe teams that should be ahead of them like israel, poland, jordan, cape verde, but lebanon still have sensational talent such as vogel, el khatib, mahmoud, feghali and freije.
Mon Oct 05, 2009 3:37 pm
the bottom line is that they didnt include lebanon because they play in a weak region and they have no one currently in the NBA. you have a strong case, so go on the ea boards and make some noise there. no one here can do anything about it.

Well, that's not entirely true. We are in contact with the producers and these are all things that we can and will mention, but by all means bring it up on other boards that the devs are known to read.
Mon Oct 05, 2009 4:17 pm
ok andrew could u tell ea board to stop putting teams that are ranked over 50 and start actually putting teams that are ranked in the top 24.even though its to late they need to be in nba live 11. are they in nba live 10?
Mon Oct 05, 2009 4:19 pm
Well, we can make a suggestion but there's no guarantee that they'll change their approach. They do have their reasons for not just putting in the top 24 ranked teams, even if not everyone agrees with it.
Mon Oct 05, 2009 5:05 pm
on nba live 09 game it said in the fiba championship there are the 24 top teams. lebanon is ranked 24th. make a suggestion. they should say there are mostly teams that are ranked over 50 in the fiba championship. becasue every time i see it i get really pissed
Mon Oct 05, 2009 7:46 pm
I understand why you would be annoyed as I was when the #13 team in World New Zealand weren't among the 24. I would prefer to see teams like Lebanon & Nigeria ahead of the likes of Japan, Mexico & Iran but such is life.
The best thing that EA could do to cater to all nationalities is to add a good Create-A-Team option that allows you to make FIBA teams, then there wouldn't be an issue each year

There's a reference to being able to play as "one of 24 national teams" on the NBA Live 09 box, it doesn't mention anything about them being the top 24 ranked teams. That said, it wouldn't hurt if there was further clarification on the teams that are included, though the criteria has been outlined in various interviews.

Absolutely. Create-a-Team would cater to a lot of desires.

Proof or ban.
lebanese players have played in the nba.
It's aready been 10 years since Seikaly played in the NBA and Steve Kerr about half a decade. They don't matter anymore.
Even the most 'recent' Lebanese players like Matt Freije (who?) and Jackson Vroman (who again?) suck compared to what that benchwarmer
Gortat has done in almost similar number of seasons in the NBA.

do you know exactly whos in nba live 10. do lebanon meet most of the criteria
Mon Oct 05, 2009 8:21 pm
Gortat's a solid enough bench player, but I think the main point is that he's an active NBA player whereas Seikaly and Kerr are not, so they don't influence the selection process at all.
Mon Oct 05, 2009 8:24 pm
so even if poland are the crapest team in the world but they have a couple of nba players in their team would they still be in the game
Mon Oct 05, 2009 8:32 pm
Yes, or at least they are this year. As I said, they don't just grab the top 24 ranked teams. They take the rankings into account but they also try to cater to all the different regions/markets and countries that have an active NBA player seem to get preference as well.

Not really, even after his second season
Gortat is already playing on par or even better than Kerr or Seikaly, with the exception of ast%

how wierd having the crapest team in the fiba world championship. im in australia i didnt get the game because of them. i wanted to play with lebanon.im pretty sure the people in poland dont want the game for the poland team.

How sure are you about that statement?
It might not be the primary reason for people in Poland to buy the game but it's a good reason nonetheless to buy it if I was in Poland.
