Talk about NBA Live 10 here.

I've been giving Superstar difficulty a shot in the demo and in a game today I had Andrew Bynum get shaken up on a collision in the paint. There was no foul but I saw him holding his back and he was somewhat out of the play as I ran back on defense. It was acknowledged in the commentary, as was his ability to remain in the game as I didn't try subbing him out and the game didn't force me to do so, so I'm guessing it really did register as a minor injury and wasn't just a phrase randomly thrown out on the collision. Presumably if I was playing a Dynasty game, there'd be a chance he'd be day-to-day or unavailable following an "evaluation" after the game.
I also presume that there will also be severe injuries that will force a timeout and substitution, though if it happens again I'll try subbing out the player and see what happens in that scenario. That's a definite improvement if injuries don't have to depend on shooting fouls in NBA Live 10 though as that obviously isn't always the case. Having the players clutch a body part and fall out of step with the play is quite realistic as well.

Yeah I've seen and experienced a few I've even seen players almost trip over other players when walking back downcourt which was a cool small thing.

Players always get shooken up when I play the demo, doesn't necessarily mean he's hurt. Guys do grimmace a lot, but it doesn't seem to effect their play too much. a lot of And 1 plays the player usually grimmace in pain lol. but it doesn't really show, you just hear it in the commentary

I realise that, but the commentary that I heard in this situation were the kind of lines that usually refer to players who sustain an injury, not just the usual acknowledgement of a collision on the play. I could be wrong of course, but if injuries do occur that way and aren't reliant on shooting fouls being called then that's a definite improvement. Hard to tell in the demo of couse because it's one half of a single game so there's no opportunity to see whether players in that situation would register as being injured after the game or if what I saw is just "flavour" during the game. I'm certainly hoping it's an improvement to injuries, in retrospect I should've called a timeout and seen if there was an "injured" icon next to his name. Next time it happens I'll certainly do that.

I have had this happen a couple of times when I go hard to the whole. One time Artest came up holding his back, another Gasol got hit and ran down the court checking his head multiple times (like he was looking for blood). I like it!!!

It's definitely a nice touch at the very least, but hopefully sometimes those situations will indeed result in injuries that force a player to the bench or prove to be a factor in subsequent games. As I said, the commentary was a little different than the usual lines about colliding on the play and reminded a lot of some of the lines that have been used in the past when injuries occur on shooting fouls.

A nice touch indeed. Although I'm a little worried based on what I've read at OS. There seems to be a chance that in-game injuries will not translate to actual games missed in Dynasty/Franchise mode. If so, that sucks

Yeah definitely, that'd be a big downer if only the CPU teams can lose players through injury (and just through simulation for the user).

Hopefully this isn't the case. I've always hoped for more realistic injuries (for both Live & 2k). I would like to see player's careers get derailed. Obviously it isn't many, but it'd be great to be a Bulls' fan & run your dynasty & every year Loul Deng breaks down, or if you are a Blazers' fan, maybe Oden's knee problems re-appear. Maybe you draft an absolute stud & he turns into a Jonathon Bender. If you try to rush players back, chance of re-injury rears its ugly head. It would definitely add another level of immersion to the mode. Obviously you wouldn't want it to be over the top. In the end, it won't happen as a lot of people are sooks & don't want to play a Lakers' Dynasty with Kobe out for 6 months. If that is case, why don't they just sim until he comes back?

Absolutely. Have an attribute that determines a player's likelihood of injury (like the Hardiness rating) and allow it to decrease if a player suffers a serious injury. If they're rushed back from an injury, their Hardiness rating could take a bigger hit and chances are they'll have recurring injuries and perhaps even lasting effects.
But if nothing else, we should have injuries that put a player out of action for X amount of weeks depending on the severity of the injury during a Dynasty game, as in years past.
