NBA Live 2004-06 PC were solid releases in my opinion. Not without their issues of course but pretty good games in their own right.

Well, NBA Lives from 2004-06 were enjoyable, but they were pretty much hashing up the same stuff we had in Live 2000 and 2001. They made some changes and messed some stuff up in the progress. Mainly I was referring to 07 and 08 that were complete waste of hard drive space... They had catastrophic faults that made the games nigh unplayable...
06 was the last good one... and were at 10 already... The game is like 4 years old. I did briefly play Live 09 for the PS3 at a friends place, but it was only some pick up games... As you all know, you can't really play live unless you take the plunge into the Dynasty mode. At least I never could. The lives were making good progress while the focus was still on the PC, but it became more or less of an cosmetic change after that.
One thing I'm sure of too... I could probably not stomach the Live 2000 or 2001 games any more. Live 06 is ok from time to time, but it just doesn't have that draw for me. I'd like to try that superstar mode in the new lives, but since they are not doing it for the PC, I will probably never get to experience that. And from what I've gathered, there is not that much content in the mode as it is in Live 09. It needs to be beefed up to give you a more complete glance into the lives of the NBA ballers. Not just play the games. We can see that on the TV. A behind the scenes look. Maybe some chemistry stuff to mess around with, some situations where you have to decide what path to take, you know, more like an RPG. You pick option 1, you increase your chemistry with your team mates, pick option 2, and you get into a better position with the management, but it also ticks off the left out party... So you can be anything from the Artest, Sprewell types to the Brandon Roy, Chris Paul types, but you get to mold your character over time.
And you also need a rewarding system for all of this, where do the millions go? You need to get some sort of a reward for getting that huge contract which you worked your brown nose for. Or maybe to settle for the medium deal since you wanted to be more of a team player and didn't bow down to the management at every step. But this is just a fantasy... Nothing more nothing less. I've always had big ideas for the game, but they have been wasted during the years...
I really loved Live... Now, I can no longer call it that... But I did get my share of fun and great times from these games and for that EA needs to get their share of honor. But I play the PC version... Period. No PC version means no game for me... Plain and simple.
And Drew, thanks for the roster updates... The games wouldn't have been nearly as good without them. They rocked.

You're welcome, glad to do what I can to keep the older PC releases alive.
