Talk about NBA Live 10 here.

Watch this.
It shows EA Sports's new awareness system.
And i hope, they will execute this so well in the game.

By the way,
The reference is:

"Was going to write a blog post about it, but PA will be in NBA LIVE 10 guys"

Great find, thanks Beatboxer.

Cool video too. Obviously there are other things I hope are cleaned up and added but procedural awareness is a nice touch and if it works that well then so much the better.

Lets say you guys get a rebound with Lebron and do a quick outlet to lets say Ben Wallace who is past the halfcourt line and the ball just drills him in the back of the head and goes out of bounds because he wasn't looking.
Would you guys be pissed that the game didnt have him catch it even if he wasn't looking, or would you laugh it off / not care because he wasn't looking and in real life he would have a headache and a TO?

I could live without it but I'd appreciate it all the same. It also depends what effect it has on the AI, ie whether or not players who aren't looking at the ball are recognised as not paying attention to the play and can be beaten more easily. If so, then it's definitely worthwhile.

This is great but i hope nba live 2010 would have some realistic animations and realistic shots made by the cpu players. No more fade away jumpers from the centers or power forwards. I also hope they would bring back the old season mode where you can modify the roster of the cpu team during season mode. Just to make sure that the roster would jive with the current roster in the nba.

These are all the extras which make games truly interesting. Would be nice to see some structural changes to the game, like the Superstar Mode from Madden going NBA-style.

I reckon they'll do that in the not-too-distant future (if not in '10), now that Be a Pro has been implemented.

I don't know if it had been mentioned but that procedural awareness clip was from Live 06 the Madden guys just used it for a visual demo for madden 10. Apparently the NBA Live 10 version is far more advanced than what we see here.

I knew I recognized that chewing before.

Nice Vid. But I remember they brought some thing similar, Like Uhm, Footplanting and didn't execute it properly. While it looks good, I hope it gets incorporated in the game properly. I'm sure it will

Yes that was part of the Live 07 onwards technology
Thu May 14, 2009 11:47 pm
The problem with Footplanting Technology (moreso when it was introduced in 07) was the added weight/momentum it gave to the players. It didn't look too bad in my view but the players were too cumbersome. 08 and 09 have made some improvement in that regard.

I want to see allen or hamilton or whoever, to do their "Moving without the ball" thing, in game. Going to 10 screens or more..
Sorry for my bad english..
Fri May 15, 2009 2:47 am
Footplanting would be awesome if they had continued it. They implemented its basics in one year to try and please us fans who complained about sliding for years. They could have expanded greatly on it if Live 07 didn't receive such crappy reviews.
Fri May 15, 2009 1:00 pm
footplanting was in Live 08 and 09. The procedural awareness system in Live 10 will be far better than the 06 system.

Marcus hinted at something on his Twitter page today with saying:
# Some great progress so far today. Players WILL play like themselves this year. You'll really notice player separation!1:52 PM May 16th from DestroyTwitter
And that EA are asking for help on rookie ratings in their forums which was mentioned on the EA Sports Live radio show.

It's certainly nice to hear. I think it's also a great move to talk about those things in the same words that the community uses and I hope they do that with the producer blogs this year to clear up any confusion. After all, that's one of the things NBA Live 365 was intended to do long term but because its features were introduced with an umbrella name for the purpose of being a selling point and wasn't worded quite the way the community puts it, I think a lot of people balked and wrote it off as a gimmick without looking at the features or what it could mean for the game, if not in 09 then in years to come. That's not to say 365 wasn't without its teething problems but all the same, I think it's a good move and much more informative for us to address our concerns with similar phrasing and terminology to what we're using.
