Instructions
Before you can use the roster save on your Xbox 360, you will need to re-sign it so that it's tied to your profile and console. For more information on the process, as well as copying save files to and from an Xbox 360, watch this tutorial from MrMario2011:
(Jump ahead to 7:42 in the video for information on resigning downloaded Xbox 360 save files)
The Horizon Xbox 360 Modding Tool used in the above tutorial can be found here: https://www.wemod.com/horizon
NOTE: Although the roster shouldn't overwrite any of your files - unless you happen to already have one called 2005 - you may want to back them up first. No responsibility will be taken for any lost data!
- Extract the Content folder to your PC, and browse through the subfolders until you find the 2005.ROS file.
- Re-sign the 2005.ROS file to your profile, according to the instructions in the tutorial above.
- Copy the Content folder with the re-signed file to a USB drive that's been formatted for use with an Xbox 360.
- Insert USB drive into Xbox 360.
- On the Settings tab, go to System and then Storage.
- On the Storage page, go to USB Storage Device.
- When viewing the USB Storage Device, go to Games & Apps.
- Select NBA 2K5, then 2005. Choose Copy.
- Select your Xbox 360 Hard Drive as the destination.
- The save will now be on your hard drive. If it has been properly prepared, you should be able to load it in-game.
As a final note, after revisiting old basketball video game manuals for Wayback Wednesday earlier this year, I was inspired to go beyond the usual basic information and installation instructions in the readme file, so be sure to give it a look!
