Player Potential

Does anyone know of any players in live 07 who with training has lots of potential, who can increase in stats faster then the usual player? I love training the underdogs from scratch and making them superstars.

I'd extract the players.db and you could look through that to see the players w/ high potential

i think you can see the potential through destiny in the players.dbf the lower i think the better.

sorry to be a complete noob but could u give me an example of that? and how do i view the players.dbf?

download dbcommander and install it then open your roster file and open players.dbf and look through destiny, learning and workethic:

DESTINY: Player's destiny and development potential. Determines a player's chances of improving/declining. Ranges from 0 (Best) to 8 (Worst)

LEARNING: Learning Attribute; used with Destiny to determine the likelihood a player will improve with training. Ranges from 0-99 (0 being the worst and 99 being the best).

WORKETHIC: Work Ethic Attribute; determines the likelihood a player will stay in shape as well as improve with training. Ranges from 0-3, (0 being the best and 3 being the worst).

You can open dbf files using DB Commander, which can be found in the Downloads section. In players.dbf you will find an attribute called "Destiny" which determines the likelihood of a player developing into a star player (1 being the best, 8 being the worst).

hey thanks alot guys, man u all really are like masters of the game hahaha, im new to the whole editing thing (becuz the game needs so much of it lol).

can i ask one more question? as i went through the dbf files, I came across hairstyles etc. I wanted to know if I could give my custom player the same hairstyle as some1 else, namely Etan Thomas or Jamison Brewer (these guys have dreads and I ahve dreads in real life and want to put them in).

Id appreciate this infomation so much, but if its too rude or idiotic of me to ask then I understand lol (since u guys must deal with noobs all the time) I dont wanna try ur patience, thnx and later bros!

I'm pretty sure that field is left over from a couple of the older Lives where hairstyles could be assigned through dbf editing. The most effective means of editing the shape of a player's hair these days is to edit the headshape/hair .ebo files. Unfortunately I can't give you any pointers on that myself as graphics patching isn't my forte.

adam morrison has great potential, i trained him til his overall was 90.

Kevin Durant and Greg Oden have great potential... --> Trained both monthly and in 3-4 years both became 98+ overall

Curry and JianLian doesn't really have good potential... --> Improved to like 80 tops
