Talk about NBA Live 07 here.

I just did a search for your problem.
mnem found out the cause to his problem, which is similar to yours. It was a high resolution court texture.

This has been a problem in the past several years of NBA Live. Mixing lots of high resolution graphic patches can cause the game to crash. Last year it could have been a combination of the high-resolution versions of shoe patches with the TNT mod or higher resolution courts and cyberfaces that caused the game to crash. Removing any one of the patches could stop the crashing, but lowering the resolution of one of those patches could also fix the crashing. It's dependent on your computer, though. Some people could have all the high resolution patches installed and not get crashes because they have a better computer.

Ya man but I told you that this never happend before...trust me...

I've plaid this game before many times...with the same graphics alignments and nothing went wrong...Why did it happen now...thats what troubles me man...

Oh ya...I almost forgot to tell you that this happens when I play Lakers-Memphis as well...and this to wasn't a problem since two or three weeks ago...First of all I was thinking that it's one of the many bugs in this year's game...It's pretty f...d up man cause you don't know how many teams out there have the same issue...Anyway,thanks for your efforts in tring to help us!!!

thanks

And sometimes the game crashes if a file (or a patch) exceeds its supposed size limit. For example, jersey files in a VIV are only limited to 500kB (as far as experience is concerned). Jersey files in VIV that exceeds 500kB will be unusable because it will crash your game.

so what exactly are we supposed to do about it? cuz i got this problem too.

So your game is crashing when you press Escape, also?
Well, if it's only crashing against certain teams, you can localize it by finding any patches that add a graphic for those teams. Any patch in your sgsm directory could be a problem. Rename it or remove it so the game doesn't load it, then play the same game and see if it crashes again. If it crashes again, you can safely put that patch back in the sgsm and move onto the next patch.
I know it's tedious, but this is what people had to do last year when they added too many patches, the game would crash until they removed one. Even if it was working fine before, just removing one patch could stop the crashing.
Sorry if this is no help. I can only tell you what I would do if I had the problem.

crap dude. cuz i think that'll take a while. as far as i know, it happens with every team, street and normal. soo can i get an opinion on whether or not i'd be worth it to try everything or just reinstall Live and reinstall all my patches?

pdub, it worked, thanks for the help

aznguy1027, another thing you can do to narrow it down is try to remember when it wasn't crashing. Then start removing patches that you added after that date.
You could also backup all the files in your sgsm directory by moving them to another folder and then run the game without all the patches and see if it still crashes. That way you wouldn't have to reinstall.
Personally, I fear reinstalling because I've heard from someone who never had the "quit game" crash issue, but reinstalled it and started getting the crashes. I know this is different fromt he "pressing Escape" crash issue, but I still don't like reinstalling.

Or aznguy1027, you could try reading the thread that pdub posted. My explanation in there might be blurry but i hope you can understand it.
From my experience, just like what Lean said, its bcoz of some files that has a big filesize and those fsh thats exceeds 1024 resolution. Pinpointing the problem might be a bit tedious but an hour wasted trying to fix the problem is worth it to have a stable game after.

Just tried your overlays. They are very nice.
Just want to ask, can you remove/move the "Inbound Plays" overlay? Also the "Press [Dunk] for Freestyle Replay" and "Press [Dunk] for Free Throw help" overlays? (and everything else alike)
Those overlays ruin the overall presentation.

or maybe you could move it at the top right corner? If thats even possible.

Pdub, could you please tell me how to bring back the portraits in your stat overlay? I really like your espn patch but i also want to see all those kick ass portraits that Joker made in game.
Thanks!!

I made an overlay editing guide, you can learn what you need to edit theret. I got rid of the portraits by making the size of the portraits zero, so you will have to increase it.

This is the best i could come up with..
The portrait wont go up anymore and it wont shrink..
Oh well, gotta live without the portraits. At least i could see the logo.

Remember, in the guide there is a main portrait line and 10 other portrait lines. So whatever size you change it to, you have to change it to all 10 lines. I'm not sure if you have to change the position for all 10, only the main one. Also, I wrote in the guide that if it gets stuck, all you need to do is change the 4 to a C or vice versa and it will "jump" and you can then resume trying to move it where you want it. So if its stuck at "**4*", change it to "**C*" and continue editing it.
