That's really good for a first time (Y)
I would probably try to blend the face a little bit more so that the cheeks and forehead have more of the same tone. Right now, half of his face is lighter than the other one, so if you can fix that, it's good to go I think

What are you guys smokin? This face is blended greatly. Just look at the ingame preview. Very good, this is incredible for a first time. I think that's the best Pavlovic I've seen. Keep it up.

Nice work (Y), blend the ears and it will be perfect!

Tue Feb 13, 2007 11:08 am

Very nice, first step (Y) keep it up :P

Tue Feb 13, 2007 12:00 pm

Thanks guys :) I'm sure it can use some work still

This is especially the one thing I knew I did wrong :). I'll look for a better picture of the ears though, the one i had was pretty bad, or maybe keep default ears with a little bit of work.

Tue Feb 13, 2007 12:47 pm

You could look for another pic of the ears, and blend it like it's part of the bhed. :)

Tue Feb 13, 2007 12:52 pm

it's more than decent for a 1st time cheater1034, it's actually pretty good... the details on the face is clear and the aligning of the facial features are accurate as well... (Y) a constructive tip would be to lower the saturation of the face you did a little until it matches the color of the neck... and for the ears, if you couldn't find a better pic as you said, just sharpen the ones you used because it's more blurry than the rest of the face... keep it up...

Tue Feb 13, 2007 5:36 pm

the first tryout - good...but blending is the mysterious word, that is not known to the current face "patchers" (whom i hate of even trying...don't blame me here), who even suck compared to everytime-bitched-at EA sports. and...let's say it in less drastic way...welcome to our patching community...don't be thrilled with another kobe/wade/melo, because everybody patches those and 90% of them are hardly better than original ones...i would suggest you to follow glen10982 work and do some ACTUAL CHANGES, i.e. headshape editing (which is of course hard for newbies), some urgent face texture tweaks - like adding facial hair, if player has it, changing hairstyles to current...but...another vain unblended tryout to make "improvement" of what ea sports has made has already gone to...WASTE..especially time-wise..

hope i didn't scare you...but somebody has to speak the truth...good luck (Y)

I am indeed doing only CFs that haven't been made yet, I haven't seen any sasha's yet :D

Here is my second preview :D

I attempted some better blending, sharpened EA's default ears a little bit, and blended everything :)

Image

How does it look ? This one also looks good in-game IMO. The default EA headshape looks pretty good too for sasha :)

*EDIT* in my current one, the neck is blended better, i uploaded an older preview. I'll upload the newer one in a little bit.

Wed Feb 14, 2007 1:27 pm

Here is the current preview :) Let me know what you think of it :)

ALL the faces are MADE by EA SPORTS and 95% of them are way better than those vain attempts we see in this forum....

blend it better

It's definitely not as bad as EAs ;)

I have had no guidance in creating it, and no document or anything but for myself I thought it was almost on par when looking at some other CFs around here.

not as bad? it's thousand times worse than EA's. you'd better open your eyes and see...

I think you have some serious problems going out of your way to put down what I made, why don't you just behave with more conduct. I don't know what I did to you, but you should offer some more constructive criticism. I will rely on other people besides you to do this for me next time.

I think you need to go out and have a good time, instead of stay inside and blast a newb cyberface creator on your computer (probably while watching star trek: the lost episode and collecting pokemon). I was just having some fun by creating this for a fun game, I do not take it very seriously, but people like you annoy me, and most everyone else you'll talk to.

UltraNIX', consider the following the only time I ever intend to speak to you on the matter.

Your claim that 95% of the cyberfaces made on the forum are less quality than EA's is not only completely false, but ignorant, as well; not to mention offensive to those of us who pour hours into patching with no other satisfaction than sharing it with others, free of charge, to use if they so wish to. Keep in mind, this is all for the benefit of the community, and nothing else.

Now, when somebody wants to help benefit the community further by providing some insight, help, or knowledge to another poster that will in some way make their work better overall, thusly, benefitting the community, it's smiled upon greatly. Take PDub recently showing Crappystuff some hex editing techniques so that he could fix his Nets jerseys. That's a huge thumbs up. What you didn't see happen was some schmuck pop into the thread and say, "Here's the harsh reality, kid. Your #s aren't big enough. EA did a better job than you, your work sucks." Which is essentially what you've done in this thread. Now, here's your one shot to knock it off. If you wish to be critical of the work displayed on these forums, it is in your interests to be specific, be constructive, and if possible, provide guidance and/or help. If you're not willing to do any of those things, then I strongly suggest not hitting the Submit button, next time you're judging someone else's work.

I'm not saying this has to be a giant pat on the back fest; but courtesy, class, and common sense will take you a long way.

i don't hate you...i'm mature enough and probably much older than you and been in this community maybe half of the time than you live your life...patching is fun, i agree...but....claiming that roughly blended first tryout is better than EA's is simply silly....then why EA exist at all, if EVERY newbie, with his first try, beats the company of professionals hands down...the problem of this forums that nobody is critical anymore...what do we see on forums? "great work, release it!!!1111oneoneone".. "amazing patches, dude!" and same bunch of shit....

btw, i already gave you a comment to blend it better...have you improved the texture since? no... instead of being paranoid and searching for somebody who wants to hurt you...if you don't understand what i mean - maybe ask me to be more specific, and i will gladly help you...but i will not tolerate "minimum work-maximum ego" type of forum dwellers....

you agree with my statement, but complain about the way i state this...well, simply someone, who is experienced enough should speak that truth..i wouldn't mind being that person...yes, you do it for free, yes you pour your hours, but...i have the right to comment, haven't i?
let's talk more about patching...how many good patches do you see on this forum? utopia's current cf's, which are maybe the only beating EA...also, lagoa's courts...jaosming's and pdub's various addons....and...last but not least glen's work...and if adding joker's portraits - that's all...and how many vain tryouts, claiming with mouths wide open, that they beat EA? you do the math...and result will correspond to my reaction...

I never go harsh on anybody, who is at least fair...i never go hard on newbie, who only wants to learn...but a person, who gives his first crappy tryout and claims that it's better than EA's? oh no..this won't happen....

and...it doesn't mean that if you waste your hours on patch, it isn't necessarily better than EA's..does it?

about the right to judge...i...(without being big-headed) am probably one of 3-5 patchers ever, who ARE able to patch ANY of the nba live sorts (roster, jerseys, faces, shoes, courts, logos, scoreboard, auto-install, etc.) and proven it already times before..the title of the nbalive.org Patching Competition winner in the year 2004., so..if we are talking about the right to judge, I am also the right person....

so tone down your bossy attitude....i am always FOR improvements...but not for another ego-centric losers like those new bread of patchers coming...

bottom line...how many cf patchers do we find there? and how many of them use ebodit? only glen...do you need any other statements? i guess i said it all...

I'm glad you've said your piece. However, my post stands. You can't say you haven't been given fair warning. My requests are simple and easy. It is up to you whether you wish to adhere to them or not. The ball is in your court.

Thu Feb 15, 2007 6:09 am

Sir ultranix, this shouldn't be a big scene or deal ;) Perhaps you could show me some basic blending techniques if you would not mind :)

I'm snowed in my house with like 18 inches of snow on the walk/drive ways so it may take me quite some time to shovel before I'll be back (the snow plows can't do it because it's too much) I would definitely appreciate some help though.

Thanks

i wouldn't serve everything on a plate...there are way too much cyberface tutorials..just go to NBA LIVE XX(xx being any of the nba lives) PATCHING ISSUES forums under any NBA live version section and there should be some stickied tutorials on cyberface patching...i remember nick barnshaw's detailed tutorial on that dating even back to 2004. i'm sure some more come out until then. just get used to that nobody will spoon-feed you..you will have to do everything by yourself (that's how i learned as well)..

cheater1034, the in-game pic looks really good.

Here are some tips. His forehead looks brighter and more orange that the rest of his face, which is darker, and more of a pinkish hue, so you should try to improve that. Also the shadows on the right side of his face, maybe you could use the dodge tool to lighten it up so it matches the left side. Please post in-game pics in practice mode instead or along with the bhed. This will give us a better impression of what we might see when we use your patch.
