Talk about NBA Live 07 here.

Will you continue to support EA Sports if there is no patch?

Thu Oct 05, 2006 3:06 am

I've been I long time loyalist to EA Sports since Lakers vs. Celtics and the original console Madden (dating myself a little), even bordering on fanboy and loyal on some occasions. I've given EA the benefit of the doubt, accepting flaws with the rationale that perfection is to much to ask for in the past, but NBA Live 07 is just to much to accept and support EA any further if they fail to provide in solutions to the number of flaws, bugs and glitches in '07.

I'm wondering, if EA fails to provide adequate fixes for this game, will anyone one his board support the Live franchise for the PC anymore? I just don't see how anyone could. After 15-plus years of loyalty, this may be the game that will have me venture elsewhere for sports games.

my loyalties are with the best available game. EA is so far from that atm. I'll probably buy a 360 and get 2k8 next year.

Thu Oct 05, 2006 3:28 am

When will be realeased patch or somethinq who fix bugs? Please tell me.

Thu Oct 05, 2006 3:31 am

Dude, stop. Nobody knows. Stop asking everywhere.

I think it's better to buy PS3 than Xbox 360 :)

No i wont support.

From now on I will wait til after the game comes out before I order. No more pro-ordering for me.

I would like to correct you kashmir. No one here supports EA Sports. It's just that there's no other basketball (decent) game on PC platform to play. Unlike soccer where PES totally own FIFA.

Thu Oct 05, 2006 5:03 am

There was one time when i liked nba courtside, lol. Again, as everyone say : why should we support a piece of crap?, we will only support live if its good.

Thanks for the correction, good point. We are truly limited when it comes to PC options. Still doesn't mean we have to support crap. The MVP '05 baseball community ( http://mvpmods.com ) has basically modded the game to a new '06 version after EA lost out on the MLB license. Perhaps a uber-modded NBA Live 06 would serve us better than an EA Sports produced Live 07.

im gonna skip this years pc live edition.. gonna go get 2k6 for xbox

easports has become a huge letdown, they don't even try anymore, i understand that next-gen is the new thing but come on.. theyre are still plenty of current gen console owners :x

Thu Oct 05, 2006 5:33 am

I too have been a EA sport fan for a long long time. The fact that the next gen versions of this years live are also aweful is extremely dispointing. It's one thing to not spend much time on current gen versions and thus not have them come out and play very well, it's quite another to drop the ball for the next gen games, what were they thinking?

I am so glad I cancelled my Live order and got 2k7 instead; it plays wonderfully.

I will probably get 2k8 next year as well - in my opinion it will take EA a few years to turn things around, they have a lot of work to do.

Patch or not, this is my last LIVE purchase. Not everything EA releases is garbage. I play tier woods 06 regularly, and for the most part the action games are service-able. You mean to tell me you will pass up a chance to play Crysis, cause your pissed at a basketball game? F*ck that. But as far as this series is concerned, until I see in an article that the project has been given to a different team of developers, that operate in the realm of commmon sense, accountability, and an interest of the sport for which they are making - I'm through.

No patch, no support. Simple as that. I'm tired of the bugs and the consumers getting screwed over where the company's main objective is profit.

Thu Oct 05, 2006 10:18 am

hell no~ it's like wasting money

in case you haven't heard. Live 07 on next gen sucks just as much as current gen. Maybe slightly less. So they can't even use the "we were concentrating on next gen" excuse.

Crysis was developed by Crytech, not EA. EA simply publishes their games. There's a difference there.
See, EA is smart. They know they suck as developers so they buy up all these little studios and slap their logo on the box for a percentage of the profit. see also DICE.

I too have purchased every madden and live game since the beginning. I myself have always preferred the pc titles. I am tired of this current gen vs next gen crap. There is no console better than a new gaming pc. EA has been slowly abandoning us pc users for years. Since the PS2 we have been on the back burner for them. Most of our game titles have been ported down from the console instead of the other way around. Personally I think it is time and the market is right for another gaming company to step forward and start to develop sports games for the pc. I am feed up with EASPORTS as they don't care about us. Btw I did not and will not purchase Live 07 unless there are some major patches.

Thu Oct 05, 2006 1:08 pm

I will support them but not in regards to NBA Live!

I own Fight Night Round 3, Burnout Revenge, Live 06, all by EA, and rented Madden, should have bought it but didn't, so I still support them in other categories, but 07 has disappointed me!

Thu Oct 05, 2006 1:10 pm

NO

i wont even buy a product of EA's

never

I just don't get this it doesn't sound right i can see ea messing up on the pc where there is no competition, but to mess all other platforms where there is competion doesn't sound right ea is smarter than that they know that if the put out a crappy product and evrybody is unhappy with it that they might switch products, it seems like there is more to it than we think, maybe some of the employees of ea were pissed and purposely ruined the game you never know, but it just seems odd that ea would mess all platforms up especially competeing with 2k sports although last year was an exception i had both on xbox and they both sucked pretty bad last year, who knows maybe 2k had some saboters at ea to mess it up, i know i might be grasping at straws here, but it just doesn't add up that ea could mess up that badly on all platforms, and even last years game even though it sucked it wasn't near as bad as this one is so i am hearing although personally i have not seen hardly any of the bugs that have been reported. in fact i have only seen 3 in the amount of time i have played this game which is about 4 hours a day, just the improper subbing or lack of and did have some pg dominating but no more and i had a pg just stand there and let the 24 sec clock expire, but that happened only once, other than that my game runs sweet no other probs.

I know its still developed by the same team, I was just kinda lumping all the meatballs in the same pot. Seventy-five percent of EA's "Studios" are are smaller companies that have been bought out. Im still pissed about Origin. Even though the developers work on their games themselves, the final nod will come from EA. It wouldnt surprise me in the least to hear that EA truncates the development schedule on games in order to ship them during peak sales times. That could be a major reason why Live has been so poorly executed. If you've noticed, These basketball games have been getting released earlier and earlier each year. Still no excuse for the sub bug, thats just inexcusable. but the other things, various graphical issues, the crashes, proper XInput implementation, to name a few. would be things they would save for the end of the production cycle. What if they were under the gun to get out a finished product? Why i dont condone putting a game like this out in such a state. If that was indeed the case then I could at least level with them. But if not, Im going postal....

But that 2005 engine was new and designed to run on PC, where NBA Live 07 was on the same page as the legacy releases and not based on the "NextGen."
Ive thought about that same deal, and how awesome MVP Mods were about it. But 2005 to 2006 with the same new platform was pretty much what EA would have done with 2006 anyways.

Thu Oct 05, 2006 4:57 pm

No i won't be. I'm afraid this is my last NBA LIVE no matter what.
