One of the best ways to blow by defenders in 06 was to use a freestyle pivot move, for example holding the right analog stick to the right while standing still with the ball (not dribbling). After you made the pivot move, you could typically choose to take a quick first step either left or right. In Live 07, you can't exit these animations into a quick first step. Maybe this video will help:

As Kidd tries to make a move toward the basket out of the pivot, it randomly triggers a Freestyle crossover, essentially ruining the move.

This is second on my list in terms of irritating bugs, and it doesn't seem like one that they would fix in a patch. This was one of the best ways to start a one-on-one move, and it's now useless.

I've also determined that Superstar Outside Scorers are the only players who have the extra pivot moves from 06. They now replace the original ones, whereas in 06 you would hold down the FSS trigger then move the right analog stick. They suffer from the same problem. There's no way to transition from a pivot move to a drive to the basket.
That should be called as travelling.. Just look at his feet then he starts moving...

The "pivot move" he was doing is called a jab step. The video helped a lot, so that was nice of you to include it.

30 people in the petition already.

I'm quite aware of the "jab step" term, but it happens with all of the pivot moves, not just that one.

Don't know if this happened to anyone else.

PC version
I configure the controller setting. Using PS2 controller.
I made the following change
[button1] = [triangle] = dunk/rebound/block
[button2] = [circle] = shoot/charge
[button3] = [cross] = pass/switch
[button 4] = [square] = layup/steal
When I used direct pass, my PF is showing [dunk]. But when I press [button1], the ball is pass to my SF instead.

Sat Sep 30, 2006 4:42 am

this might be another bug, I don't know why, but the in-game text (i.e. "out of bounds Rockets ball) does not show up... is it just my shitty computer?

Check out the third item under "Significant Issues" in the first post.

Direct pass position assignment not correctly mapped to gamepad. ie: dunk label appears over player, pressing the dunk button will pass to a player with the lay-up label.

Opps..Guess I should read before I posted.

No option to turn the stamina bar on

There is an option for that in Preferences, but I think they're talking about Direct IP games...not sure about that though.

Scorer legends and playmaker legends videos are the same? I thought they would be differnet. I will try and get the highflyer legends video and see if its the same as the other ones. Anyone know how to unlock them via DBF? (I lost my playmakers legengs video, I didnt save the settings) If anyone is wondering how to save you settings like after you change the EA Trax and nba store stuff you have to go back into the nba store to save all of your "MY NBA LIVE" settings.

Somehow I don't have any NBA Store Points to buy them even though I've played through several full games...

I apologize if this has been said, but the "Point Guard Dominiation" issues seems to be related to the fact that Point Guard's don't appear to fatigue like the rest of the players. I ran a couple tests in exhibition, season and a dynasty with Tony Parker, Baron Davis and Chauncey Billups. Despite me holding turbo for an entire 12 minute quarter (that left everyone else with a black fatigue bar) the point guards' bar stayed completely green. The opposing teams also did not suffer fatigue at the point guard position.

If the players are fatiguing and not being subbed out, then the point guards gain a significant advantage on the court, this suggests that the cause of the domination is the lack of point guard fatigue.

Maybe it's just my game if no one else has this problem? I didn't edit anything yet, so it's the out of box game. I'm interested if anyone else can replicate this.

^ That's interesting, and that could be a big reason. Thanks for reporting this as it might explain the point guard domination issue.

elitehunter: Thanks for pointing that out. Will add.

I read the whole list quickly, but I didn't notice the following mentioned..

- Camera angles are never saved, it resets to default after quitting a game.
- On a couple of occasions, when the centre or power forward were inbounding the ball after opposition scored, switching to an off-ball player other than the PG resulted in the C/PF holding the ball and not passing it to the active player (5-second violation).

- the camera angle is save, but not the zoom level
- didn't have this problem

Note, the CPU CAN perform a quick first step out of a pivot move like in Live 06..

PG fatigue is there, at least the bar. smush parker always gets tired when i play with the lakers, so does j. will when i play with the heat.

when i use those teams, wade and kobe are the ones that don't get ever tired and their bar doesn't drop from 3/4.

Sat Sep 30, 2006 5:33 am

Hmm, perhaps it's related to the fatigue rating then...or maybe even primacy as these are all guys who play major minutes and have the ball a lot. The teams I had tested with did have one of their best players as a point guard, didn't try with a team like the Lakers.
There are no averages at the Team Stats screen

Well, this has been something I've been bitching about since 2003 or 2004. There's no opposition stats either!

And this year there appears to be a fun new feature in that "Sort Column" won't sort the column in the team stats (only place I did it, actually I only did it on FG%) in any rational manner. Traditionally it'd sort it highest-to-lowest or vice versa depending on how many times you pressed it now I get lists like .434, .458, .419, .445, etc.

If this is true...... :cussing:

I think the problem is that the people who test the game are the same people who are playing in the preview videos. They inbound the pall to the PG at midcourt, run straight down the lane and mash on the dunk button when they get to the hoop on every play. They'd never notice anything like this.

Sat Sep 30, 2006 5:47 am

Another one is if you have the highflyer (not 100% sure) and pull a move a the 3-point line you go through the defender a foul is called and you get 3 freethrows.

Sat Sep 30, 2006 5:49 am

I've seen it happen but it's an offensive foul most of the time.
