The Brown/McNabb trade is obviously one-sided. The team getting McNabb is being ripped off because Brown is a top 10 player and McNabb isn't even top 50. Thanks.

The bottom line is the deal isnt unfair. Mcnabb is a top 5 fantasy qb even without Ownes, and Ronnie Brown is not only unproven, but with Chris Chambers and Culpepper anchoring the passing game, there as big a chance that Ronnie Brown will be a fantasy bust as he will be a stud.

Additionally, if you look at the lineups for both teams, it makes sense. Jugs needs a qb. I need a running back. Ask jugs if i explained that to him that theres a good chance that Brown will have a good season or not before he made the deal.

As for Brown being a top 10 player and mcnabb not being a top 50, if your going by yahoo rankings, then bell in denver is a top 20 player. Is he really, or just a bad prediction. With anything sport related, predictions can be equally wrong as they can be right, so go fuck yourself you sulker.

Brown is a possible bust/unproven? he rushed for almsot 1000yrds in his rookie year... and playing with a great offensive line and a great passing game (both Dante and Chambers are on my team muhaha) will open great opportunities for the running game

i do think this deal clearly favors Chief Wiggum... how much it favors him- who knows? Jugs could use the upgrade at QB but personally if i owned that team, i wouldn't trade a RB for QB... at least not with these players straight up

Nobody is saying that you're policing the league, your opinion is valued. However, I stand by my comments albeit they were somewhat vague. There is the possibility that brown will be a fantasy bust this season. Saban is tempermental and if Brown doesnt produce he may look in another direction. Obviously with ricky williams gone, they dont have any depth at hb, but as i said before, with Culpepper and Chambers, they could very easily turn into a passing orientated team. Brown isnt even guaranteed goaline touchdowns with Culpepper.

Also, I told Jugs there is a good chance that brown will have a good season. I also explained his subpar stats (for such a high projection) last season. I definately didnt go to him and say "ronnie brown is terrible, you've never heard of him for a reason". Also for anyone who votes against the trade, I hope you are willing to hold yourself accountable if Brown flunks out and if Mcnabb has a quality season and offer Jugs an apology.

The reason why I think the deal is fair, is if i was Jugs, with the team i have, and how projected rankings mean nothing, I would make the same deal.

i'll agree anything is possible and any player can be a bust but i wouldn't count on Saban benching Brown/Brown being a bust. this isn't Cleveland where they have a bad offensive line or a bad QB. a then rookie Brown almost had 1000 with a shit for brains QB. Thinking Saban will look elsewhere or make the team pass oriented is quite a reach.

if anything, it's the passing game that may slowly come along since Culpepper is coming off that knee injury and he has to learn the Miami system. actually it's more likely that Miami will lean on the running game until Culpepper is comfortable with the system/receivers. i don't think Saban will bench Culpepper if he doesn't produce immediately

i'll be more then happy to admit i'm wrong if Brown busts... but until then i'm voting against the trade

second, I'm not trying to "police" the league in any way, I posted that because I didn't really see where you guys were coming from. All I saw was the trade on paper. I don't claim to be an expert in football, but I try my best to look into all the stats and the scoring in the league and I feel that RBs are little more valuable than QBs.
I mean, if Jugs wants a QB for Brown, then he is entitled to that. I'm in sort of the same situation because I need a better QB than McNair, so I might need to give a little more for one and I wouldn't want someone bitching about my trade either. The post was my honest opinion at that time, and I wanted to voice it to see if anybody else felt the same.

A bad qb and offensive line doesnt mean bad numbers for a running back. Jamal Lewis rushed for over 2000 yards with Kyle Boller as the starting running back. With Culpepper and Chambers in Miami, not only will that take plays away from Brown, but I have little doubt in my mind that those guys will be uber productive, and with a no non sense guy in nick saban, if ronnie brown does not produce and the passing game is flowing, Ronnie Brown might find himself in the doghouse.

But whats disapointing is the perception that this is a bad deal. What would have happened if last year someone have tried to trade Marc Bulger for Larry Johnson, and people put their opinion in and voted against it? How would they be able to justify to the person who could have had LJ later in the season that it was a bad deal?

Why is it when there is an equal risk reward on both sides and the trade makes sense for both teams when you look at the rosters that it will be stopped becuase of of peoples opinions? I know Jugs is new to this, but I told him the storys of both players from last season, the potential for ronnie brown having a big season. I explained all that. But yet the deal is still being criticised... whats the point of having trades if one as even as this is views as being unfair becuase of the projected rankings and the obsession of rb's in this years fantasy football?

WHat are you basing that on exactly? Good, stable qb's are just as hard to come by as productive running backs (especially when you take into account penalites for interceptions)

the meat of your argument is that Saban is tempermental and is a no nonsense guy and will bench Brown if he doesn't perform (lol this can be used on every player). but still you haven't mentioned anything legit as to WHY you think Brown will not perform. saying Miami's passing will make Brown a weaker player is ridiculous

players have the highest bust potential when they are playing on teams with poor offfensive lines & poor passing games, coming off a major injury, their 1st time being a feature back, or are getting old... completely opposite of the situation that Ronnie Brown is in.

and we've seen time and time again good passing games and good running games able to coexist with both sides putting up good numbers. most recently off the top of my head the Colts, Bengals, Steelers, Giants, Philadelphia

i don't understand your complaining about the criticism this deal is receiving/why the veto exists? exactly what risk is coming from your side? LOL you have Manning as your QB so you have no problems getting rid of McNabb for a RB who many fantasy experts are saying will have a big year.

this isn't about rankings or RB obsession. if good QB's are hard to come by as you claim, then 8 out of the first 10 picks in our draft and in many drafts would have been QB's, not RB's.. and if you still want to go further, Mcnabb's average draft spot is around 30 spots after Brown's lol
